Time for an update on our Green Card, which we just received after being lost in the US Postal system for nearly 8 weeks:

I kept going around to different postal locations and calling various offices and no one ever knew anything.

After being lost in the mail for nearly 8 weeks, we received it, marked "Delivered to Wrong Address". What's scary is, I had just been sent a form to report it lost or stolen, and because the GC wasn't received by USCIS "Returned to Sender", we would have had to pay over $500 again.

Had I not dragged my heels on filing that form, I would be in another phase of red tape, because the green card we finally received would have been flagged as lost or stolen.

To future searchers finding yourself in this predicament, make of this what you will and good luck to you.

Wow! Even though it is not your fault, you still have to pay for $500!? That is insane

Did you prepare for pictures? My officer liked our pictures a lot.

That is good. In my case, I brought most of what MrsNotBonJovi brought to their interview. They prepared really well.

I gave the most recent photo copy of our joint account, the most recent my pay stub with our address and a photo copy of changing address form which I sent USCIS to my officer as extra evidences at our interview.

OK. We had our interview today. I think it was fine but we didn't get a decision yet.

We came and had to wait 10 minutes before we were called. We then followed the young lady to her office and were sworn in.

She asked for my wife USC passport and for my birth certificate and additional evidence we have. I gave all the shared bills and other shared documents we had.

She then asked my wife a few questions like her address and full name. She then asked me our marriage date. I answered but gave the wrong year number (2010 instead of 2012). I was a little nervous when answering. She then asked me to say the year again and I told her. She told me to relax.

She took my I-94's forms and kept the shared bank account statements. Also kept the name change forms of my wife (changing to my last name).

She returned me all the rest and walked us out. We were there a total of 10 minutes.

I hope we got approved!!

My guess would be that you did get approved. I think if they have a a problem with your case, they will keep you there longer and ask you questions.

Hopefully you get approval update ASAP.

Husband and I are not in divorce proceeding and there is no violence or drama in put marriage! We are very happy! My brother in law posted on her last week while we were on a cruise! Thanks to everyone for the advice that was given! He was house sitting and my homepage is vj so I am always login! Any who! I am not sure why he wrote on here but I apologize and I have since changed my password! The cruise was wonderful and we had a good time! I haven't been ok vacation in such a long time that it was def needed!!!!

P.s. we r expecting as well!!!!! I'm on cloud 9 right now

Update of I-130

Post Decision Activity

On July 30, 2012, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.
