Hello all,

Today (March 5th) we received the "package" from the Lima Embassy. It included my wife's case number, medical examination appointment letter and her visa interview appointment date (March 29th).

So now I'm kind of confused....

We submitted the I-130 on February 2nd, 2012. Assuming she passes her medical and interview, she will be issued her visa soon afterwards? I must be missing something here as it surely cannot happen this quickly???

I already have the DS-230 Pt1 & Pt2 completed and ready to go along with all the other things required.

Can anybody clue me in?

DCF are usually faster. So there is no surprise you got it that quick. Most likely you will have to present all of the information during interview, which usually done at the NVC stage. Just follow the instructions on the packet you got.

Yup, we were pretty surprised at how fast it moved. For us it was about a month from submitting the I-130s to receiving the visas. Hooray for DCF!

I enjoy following this story as I am from the US and have been living here for over 4 years and have been married to a Peruvian woman for 3.5 years. We are finally deciding to move to the US and will be filing the I-130 next week. Keep updating us with info please, it's really helpful.

Yes, that's all normal. In our case, the whole process took 10 months only because we elected to cancel the interview and re-schedule it later since we weren't yet ready to move to the US. Your timeline is normal for Lima DCF.

Hi, I am new using visajourney, please I really need your help and any good advice with my case, I am peruvian Naturalized U.S Citizen I married my wife here in the U.S but she had to return to Peru before getting the advance parole or permition to travel. Before she traveled, she did the fingerprints and just a week after she left I got her permission to work in the U.S. in the mail. Now I heard about the DCF which is possible to do it in the office of Lima, but here is my question " IT'S ABOUT THE TIME I REQUIRED TO BE IN PERU, I HEARD I SUPPOSED TO BE IN PERU AT LEAST SIX MONTHS AND THEN START THE PETITION WITH ALL THE FORMS SUCH AS I-130 ETC.

DO YOU THINK IT IS POSIBLE TO MAKE THE PETITION AS SOON AS I WILL HAVE ARRIVED TO PERU SO I CAN WAIT IN PERU DURING THE TOTAL PROCESS.TIME. I TALKED TO AN ATTORNEY IN PERU ABOU IT AND SHE SAID THAT THE TOTAL TIME TO GET THE VISA WILL BE FOUR MONTHS SINCE I ARRIVED TO PERU AND FILE THE PETITION AS SOON AS POSIBLE BUT SHE NEVER MENTIONED ANYTHING ABOUT STAY IN PERU FOR SIX MONTHS AND THEN FILE THE PETITION, THAT I BELIEVE WILL TAKE 3 MONTS TO GET THE VISA AND RETURN TO THE U.S. SO I BELIEVE THE TOTAL TIME SINCE I ARRIVED IN PERU UNTIL MY WIFE GOT HER VISA WOULD BE 9 MONTHS, AM I CORRECT ? PLEASE I WILL REAALY APPRECIATE ANY ADVICE, THANK YOU IN ADVANCE.
