Congrats! As for that poe being nice for processing the k1 package mebbie lol but i hate it..its the first poe that kicked me out of the states before we started our filing, and its the same one the little ahem..snot nosed kid interogated me and treated me like a criminal for 4 hours...at midnight.. so i'll respectfully disagree on its niceness :P:)

Ugh! I'm so sorry to hear this! We're open to going through Detroit, but Sarnia would be fastest. Hopefully they take it easy on us.

Thanks again, everyone!!! I'm so grateful to have found VJ :)

Yeah, Sarnia was the place where we were pulled into secondary screening, despite my husband showing the first guard his Canadian lease and having a return plane ticket (we were driving over and he was flying back). The younger officers inside were nicer than the old man in the booth though...

Old officer to my husband: "You're a smart guy, you know what's going to happen next."

Husband: "Uh, no?"

Officer: "Pull over there and go inside."

I think he was mad that he couldn't read the French lease.

Anyone think there's a reason to pick Detroit over Sarnia? I always figured a POE that wasn't a city would be less crowded and have less hostile officers, but maybe not?

Oh, I'd love to hear people's thoughts on going through Detroit, who have already done it. It's still a ways away for me, but I think I will probably be making the POE in Detroit, as we usually take the I-75 from Detroit to Florida when we (ie me and my parents) drive down.

But if one POE is easier than another, we'd be open to going from either Sarnia or one of the Niagara Falls crossings even, to minimize stress!

Never POEd through Detroit but I've crossed through it a few times and each time it was okay. The officers were still a bunch of old crabby men but they didn't give me trouble.
