hello everyone :)

i have a couple questions

first off am i correct in that the embassy mails my wife a letter she has to bring with her for interview? or is the one that i was e mailed one in the same? we have everything else in hand and ready.

second if anyone can suggest a shipping company for us.she will be shipping her household goods here. she is working double shifts every chance she can and doesnt have time for looking, and i thought it might be fastest to just ask here. thanks in advance

third

she doesnt have any available time off paid LOL yeah in the UK :P to take the weekend off for her interview. she needs a place to stay near the embassy.

i had a lot of this saved from before and i lost a lot of my e mails and links in my computer. i will look around here and see what i can find and a big thank you for any who post up useful help :)

and her interview is march 26th .

then she has her sons school graduation, and tidying up all her loose ends and a concert in Norway for Metallica..and a trip to poland for a visit to her family that is not in the UK. then she is coming ...yes....

home :)

thanks again everyone

Morning! Hereds a link for the documents she'll need http://london.usembassy.gov/application_documents.html

With regards to the shipping things, I was looking for a company for myself just yesterday. I hear excessbaggage.com are good.

I cant help with the hotel thing. I'll probably stay in a Travel Lodge. :)

I am pretty certain they will not mail a letter. I just had a printout of the email and that was fine.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn, Mayfair on Berkeley Street. I was able to leave my bag there and walk to the Embassy.

I used a company called Lysander Shipping - a freight forwarding company, they normally deal with companies but will do small personal jobs as well. They shipped things from door to door. They are cheaper than using a moving company, but you will have to pack everything yourselves into boxes and label everything up. You can contact them on: +442089429420. Give them a call and they will get you a quote.

They have offices in London and Liverpool - www.lysandershipping.com.

By the way, I was sent a letter through the post for my interview.

By the way, I was sent a letter through the post for my interview.

I wonder if that is because you were a K1 so you were dealing with the Embassy whereas CR1s are dealing with NVC. Just a theory - I have no idea if that's right! ;)

We used Allfreight (allfrieght.co.uk) which worked well for us, and was the cheapest we'd seen.

Do NOT stay at the Marylebone Travelodge. Horrible.

I stayed at the Millennium Hotel. It's actually on Grosvenor Square and 10 seconds from the embassy..

When moving, I used John Mason International. They had the best price at the time and I had no problems with them. You have to pack all your stuff and itemise it, but they seal all your boxes and load them.

Good luck :)
