-These two sweethearts are in public, and from the mannerisms.... they exhibit the very thing I mentioned (two men acting as a man and women).

As for the shrinking minority thought, we heard the same thing about Abortion ...

we would get used to the unnatural idea that mothers can remove their offspring (on piece at a time).

Didn't happen, a growing majority stand against it today.

We have an election coming in the fall, wanna go out on limb and predict how many states are going to VOTE for Homosexuals having the right to marry?

Or how about how many States vote to ban this?

Since we live in a constitutional republic rather than a democracy, it matters less what a popular vote will show than what is written in our constitution and how that will get interpreted by the courts. The bill of rights will need to be amended to make this a matter for the popular vote. But even that will matter less as time goes on as the opposition to gay marriage is strongest among the elderly and lowest among today's youth! If everyone actually voted it would probably come down now, in most states, on the side allowing gays to marry. But the elderly are always the demographic most likely to vote so the voters attitudes reflected in the voting booth don't reflect average current public opinion on issues that break down along generational lines. But just give it a little more time!

Get over it grandpa Danno!

First of all, I am not a granda yet :)

Secondly, if you are going by "popular vote" you might want to note in nearly every opportunity where the people have had a vote on the issue, it has been rejected.

After the next election you can expect even more states to join in the move to stop the redefining of marriage.

It's also quite noteworthy that even your parties leadership reject the idea that - treating Homosexuals as an equal to actual marriage is possible.

"I do not support gay marriage. Marriage has religious and social connotations,

and I consider marriage to be between a man and a woman."

– Barack Obama

"Marriage has got historic, religious and moral content that goes back to the beginning of time, and I think

a marriage is as a marriage always has been, between a man and a woman."

– Hillary Clinton

If you consider the amount of hours and resources dedicated by pop-culture to swaying the minds of American on this issue it's rather stunning the popular opinion has not moved more.

For instance consider the amount of one sided coverage ABC alone dedicates to wining the hearts and minds (and votes) of the American public.

Key findings From the GLAAD Network Responsibility Index include:

This year, ABC Family becomes the second network, cable or broadcast, to receive an "Excellent" rating in this report due to the quality and diversity of its many LGBT impressions. Of the 10 cable networks evaluated, ABC Family posted the largest increase (+18%) and ranked highest for LGBT-inclusive original content. Out of 103 total hours of original primetime programming, 56.5 (55%) hours included LGBT impressions.

Glad knows what I know and their slogan bears this out. "Words and images matter"

How many programs can you name in which the Idea of Gays being married is viewed in a negative light? We see religious people viewed all the time as the dark Character, where are the "bad" Homosexuals on the screen, as they truly all this wonderful?

Imagine if the Public were exposed to just ten percent of viewer time dedicated to projecting positive views and rolls for traditional views on the topic?

Dude, what you see as "progress" many other see as "evidence" of the social deconstructing taking place.

On a broader thought, the movement of Alternative marriage forward will be just one more dividing effect which this country is sinking in: The traditionalist may loose ground but these issues will ever be present and tearing at the seams of social unity.(along with so many other things)

Can you really say "Out of many, one" is growing more true rather than less?

They don't pull that ####### in public in these parts. They know better, and if they don't know they learn real quick like.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Too bad about not yet being 'grandpa'! I am and I love it!

As you acknowledge, it is no longer a given that gay marriage will be rejected everywhere it is up for a vote. The trend here is very clear and the polling along generational lines indicates that it will not be long before it will be the exception for gay marriage to not win a majority of the popular vote almost everywhere in our country. This is following what happened with racial civil rights in the 60's and 70's. There are still some deep-seated pockets of racial prejudice in this country but, thanks in part to Sarah Palin, we now have a black president! When we will have our first openly gay president is hard to predict but there are more and more gays being elected to other positions. Tradition has its place but in the area of civil rights being traditional in no way can justify continuing official policies of discrimination!

Black is a color, homosexuality is something not right with nature. See the difference?

How have you determined what is 'right' and what is not? Just because you and I are not attracted to same gender sexual partners does not in itself make it not 'right'! If that were a criterion I would have to say that grossly obese people 'doing it' is also not right. After all, I am grossed out by the thought of it! (Actually, I prefer just not thinking about it).

The point is that both conditions, being black and being homosexual, are ones that people are born with. I know I didn't used to think this about homosexuality, but the actual evidence seems to say that I was wrong and so I have evolved my position on this, as have millions of other people in recent years.

I have to add, as I see the argument coming, that just because gay sex is not procreative sex, should not be a basis for denial of the rights of homosexuals to engage in it. Otherwise it would follow that women beyond menopause, those who have had hysterectomies, tubal ligations, or vasectomies, are also engaging in sexual practices that are not 'right' and perhaps not allowable by the republican/catholic sexual police!

Fat folks F_cking is perfectly normal and natural, some people are even into that kinda thing but this idea that you can not see the serious breech of the common rules of nature.... wherein men have sex with men. typically one takes on the roll of the female is just no comparison to fat people bumpin uglies.

You are so down the river on this "Sodomy is civil rights" ####### that you are even parroting the line "They are all born that way" .... if honest gays admite that has not been proven why are you carrying the water for a gay-lie?

Associating men sodomizing men with our Black heros of yesteryear is about as warped as it gets.

Look I agree with you, we are well into a period of -Social deconstruction- and history has seen this before, trust me, homosexuality is not the basement floor.

I'm no biologist, but two men acting like women while having sex with each other is anything but normal in natures scheme of things.

Because A. their knowledge of civics is so poor or B. They would need it translated?

Probably B.

You said "Can you really say "Out of many, one" is growing more true rather than less?".

Congratulations if you know what you meant. Personally I thought you were trying to do an impersonation of Confucius.

And people used to say it was not 'normal' for blacks to have sex with whites! It was illegal and it was prosecuted! There are some people here on VJ that don't believe it is 'normal' for there to be more than several years difference in age of husband and wife! Should they be allowed to make illegal what some of us have done? I am sure some of them would vote yes!

Whether you or I say it is normal is not really the issue, it has to do with our constitutionally granted civil rights!

Equating color with homosexuality?
