I am a filipina who has been married to a US citizen for almost 3 years now. I came her 2009 as a tourist and overstayed. My I-130 got approved last year and i am just going to apply for I-485. Can somebody please walk me through the process or share their experience? Im happily married with a 2yo daughter and im scared to get deported :( my hubby got laid off so obviously he isnt financially stable to be the sole sponsor. His bestfriend who lives with us is willing to sponsor me. Does he file form I-864 or frm I-864 supplement A? My brother in law is also willing to sponsor. Does he file form I-864? Will it help to have two sponsors even if the bestfriend will be enough?

Thank you so much in advance. Im so nervous. Ive been praying for this a long time and finally we got the money to file. And by the way,how much does medical usually cost? Im in orange county, california. Thanks again, god bless

I don't know about roommates because you don't have any family relationship. But I-864A is required if the co-sponsor lives same roof with main sponsor. Well two or more co-sponsor won't help to speed up anything so if one is enough then no need to make it more complicated with another co-sponsor.

If you still have your childhood vaccination record in your country then you can translate it to English and save money on vaccines. Otherwise, it would could you 350-500 to finish the I-693 with shots provided.

Good luck.

Hi ate. :)

If your did you file for I130 with I485?

Check with USCIS for approved doctors that can do Medical Exam for Immigration purposes. Try calling and ask for their fees.

With regards to the affidavit of support, You have to check how many people are declared in each and every one's tax, then check the Poverty guideline for the number of people in the household. Say for example, your brother in law has a wife and a child so that will be (3), then you have to count your household, in this case, you, your husband and your daughter (3). That is a total of Six (6). With the poverty guideline, the combined income for both household should be $37,487. If the combined income is more than that, then you should be fine with one joint sponsor only. But if however, you were not able to meet the guideline, then you would have to find another. Key things to consider: 1. How much they earn 2. Number of people in the Household.

If the brother-in-law doesn't live in the same household, then he does not need to list her husband or her daughter on his I-864.

In this the case, the BIL would list: himself, wife, any dependent children living in his household plus the OP.

No need to list the OP's husband and child, unless they live within the household, which doesn't appear to the case here. However, the OP's husband does need to list his wife and daughter on his I-864.
