All,

As you noticed by my last post, I have just been approved. I wish I would jump and scream like everybody else, but I suppose I will be the different one.

I cannot bring myself to it, for the simple fact that I do not feel like it would be fair to all the others who are waiting.

Yes, the feeling is something one cannot describe, but still I think I "literally" know what it is like to wait all this time and I think those waiting deserve some respect.

I will instead give you more information which can help you (or maybe not), but at least it is something.

As some of you know, I called again last week for the service request and finally got it through. I asked to talk to the supervisor and instead the lady told me she could give me a "2nd level" service agent which is what did the trick. we automatically ask for the supervisor, DO NOT ASK FOR THE SUPERVISOR, ASK FOR 2ND LEVEL!

Today I called again to see what happened with my service request since it has been a week, so the lady on the phone said there was no service request on her screen, so I asked for ths supervisor (stupid me again!), but she instead tole me she would give me the 2nd level agent who HAS MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE SPECIFIC FILES she told me.

The 2nd level agent confirmed that the 1st level does not have any information on the file and immediately found my service request. She said she could not comment on it because an answer was mailed to me on monday already.

Coincidence or not, 5 minutes later I enter the website and it is approved!!!!!

So, it is really hit and miss, but depending on who you speak with it might really make a difference, was it a coincidence?

I know nothing one can say will change anybody's situation, but all I can say to you is that I was there, 5 minutes ago, right there with you, and now I am out, so this is not something you read somewhere, you actually see the people getting approved, so take this into consideration when you are tired and depressed, because it really happens to all of us.

I do wish you all a quicker journey, and I feel even more for those behind us, from April, May, June, imagine what they will still have to go through?

I hope things will change so they donot have to go through this too.

Best,

Andrei

Excelletn post. I will do this after the 6 month mark for sure. And i agree, whenever i get approved i am not going to be parading it around as theres people that are probably gonna be waiting longer than me. I cant stand the , AFTER A LONG TIME (90 DAYS) WE ARE APPROVED!! ITS A MIRACLE!

We have people here waiting 6,7 months at VSC. So unfair

I do not think I can do it, but I sure as hell would like to hear about how TigerFlower's chicken dance was!!

Please let us know as soon as it happens. I guess what I will say is a stretch, but we all might have more in common than we think going through all this together, so maybe a (re)union in the US could be a good idea for the future, even though all live in different states... I bet most of us imagine who are the people behind those posts and would like to meet them all in person... and possibly see lifelong friendships come out of it...

Just curious, how do you check on that information on the USCIS site? I didn't know there was a way to check what case numbers and date USCIS was at in processing. Would you mind sharing that information with me please? My fiance and I are at the 6 months mark. I keep praying the Serenity prayer to keep me sane. This thread has been a huge help in keeping me informed with what's going for the VSC. BIG THANK YOU to all! :D

Sure thing!

Just go here:

https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/login.jsp

If you haven't created a profile, you'll need to. From that point on, just log in and you'll see your case number in a little summary. Click on your case number, and it will pull up your status.

Here's the nifty part. While seeing the same "Initial Review" appear on your screen (or hopefully Not!), you'll notice your case number is displayed in the upper right corner. It's not sound programming, as it is displayed in a text field, not just text. But because of the way it is displayed, you can click in the box and change the last digit (or two or three) to see other petitions status. It doesn't reveal anything personal about the other petitioner, but you can see the date and their status to compare against yours.

Make sense?

WOW..had no idea you could do that! I only checked the 10 around my number but found out that there was movement on all applications just 3 numbers ahead of mine! Of course, there is no rhyme or reason to how they do this but it makes it more exciting than nothing happening at all! lol Thank goodness there isn't a limit to how many times a day you can check that site. I swear I check at least every 2 hours.
