Yes, they go by the received date, that's what I understand from the beginning. Yours is March 8, 2012 not March 12, 2012.

True...But VJ goes by the notice date on the NOA1.

So I contacted my Congressional office last week and this is the response that was given by VSC...

"On March 8, 2012, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) received the I-129F Petition, which is currently pending.

The Vermont Service Center (VSC) is presently processing I-129F petitions approximately five months plus thirty days from receipt date, as per the most recent posted processing times found on the www.uscis.gov website.

If a decision has not been made on this case after September 8, 2012, contact this office for assistance."

So they're going by the received date, not the date of the notice on the NOA1. I'm waiting until September 9 and if I get no approval/RFE, I'm contacting them again.

At least you are taking action to be reunited with your loved one. I commend you for this. I wish you good luck.

3/09/2012 ..... Mailed I-129F to Dallas Lockbox

3/12/2012 ..... Received NOA1 by calling USCIS

3/16/2012 ..... USCIS deposited my check

8/13/2012 ..... NOA 2 approved!!!

8/17/2012 ..... Received case # from NVC

8/21/2012 ..... NVC sent packet to Embassy

8/30/2012 ..... Embassy received packet and sent verification email

9/20/2012 ..... K-1 Visa approved at U.S. Embassy

I contacted my congresswoman on Thursday. In today's mail, I got an answer that they have contacted USCIS asking for an inquiry. As soon as they get a reply they will let me know.

My six month mark is Sept. 9th. I am going to be like a bloodhound if I am still waiting after that.

These dates are right around the corner, Marchies. I know we've waited a long time, but we're almost there!

Hi Tigerflower, definitely give us an update when your congresswoman contacts you again. Hopefully, they will say that "hey, we just found your case and will began to process it immediately!" That would get the juices pumping :-)

Good luck!

I'm in :)

Me too! We love road trips, and hope our next one will be to Wyoming/Montana. Vermont would be quite an achievement from Oklahoma, but it would be an adventure!

So they're going by the received date, not the date of the notice on the NOA1.

See, I didn't know. I'd thought they were starting the count on the date that is printed on the actual NOA1 receipt. Well, that would make it March 06 now that we could contact the congressman (six months after date of receipt)... which would be in a little more than a week! Wow, I can't believe we have been waiting for that long already.

Come on! It has to be today! Suprisingly, I'm in high spirits...

Soon, Kaaha! You should be one of the first of us to get NOA2.
