I can't sleep, I'm feeling wide awake

Tonight is taking it's time

How much more before the morning breaks

And I can leave it all behind

'Cause every time I try to close my eyes

I only end up seeing memories of you

And it's never enough, I'm waiting

So I contacted my Congressional office last week and this is the response that was given by VSC...

"On March 8, 2012, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) received the I-129F Petition, which is currently pending.

The Vermont Service Center (VSC) is presently processing I-129F petitions approximately five months plus thirty days from receipt date, as per the most recent posted processing times found on the www.uscis.gov website.

If a decision has not been made on this case after September 8, 2012, contact this office for assistance."

So they're going by the received date, not the date of the notice on the NOA1. I'm waiting until September 9 and if I get no approval/RFE, I'm contacting them again.

I wonder if VSC still expedite petition outside of normal processing time. I got conflicting answers from reading the posts made by those who tried to put a service request after 6 months passed. Some said that VSC is no longer expediting petition outside of normal processing time. Is this true? my fiance has not made any call to VSC yet, we want to wait until it hits 6 months at least. Here is the message I extracted from VSC newsletter (Volume 1, Issue 9, February 2012):

Expedites - The process below pertains to a request to expedite a petition/application that is Outside the Normal Processing Time. Below is some standard language that you may see in this circumstance.

Processing times for specific applications and petitions at the Vermont Service Center (VSC) are provided on the www.uscis.gov website. Based on fluctuations and variables that impact the processing times and for the purpose of interim or final adjudicative processing, the VSC allows 30 days beyond the posted date before the case is considered "Outside of Normal Processing Time" (ONPT). That additional 30 days allows for adjudicative review. If the application or petition is still pending after 30 days, and we receive your formal request for expeditious processing, your case will be forwarded to the applicable adjudicative unit for expeditious handling. This process is used specifically on cases that are ONPT. For cases that meet other expedite criteria your complete package would be reviewed upon receipt of the expedite.

I contacted my congresswoman on Thursday. In today's mail, I got an answer that they have contacted USCIS asking for an inquiry. As soon as they get a reply they will let me know.

My six month mark is Sept. 9th. I am going to be like a bloodhound if I am still waiting after that.

These dates are right around the corner, Marchies. I know we've waited a long time, but we're almost there!

Yes, they go by the received date, that's what I understand from the beginning. Yours is March 8, 2012 not March 12, 2012.

For those who ever get RFE, this is also extracted from VSC Newsletter (Volume 1, Issue 9, February 2012):

Request for Evidence – The Vermont Service Center is reminding applicants and petitioners that it is absolutely imperative that when responding to a request for evidence (RFE) that you put a copy of the RFE that was issued on top of the information requested.

Without that copy it is much harder to identify the document as the response. Responses which do not include the RFE coversheet could delay any subsequent review of the filing. In addition, any delay in getting information to the file could mean that a final decision or a no response denial may be issued in error.
