Did you call them to see what's up?

I've called and only get the automated recordings when checking on the status of my application, which end up telling me to refer to the .gov website for average processing times. Is there a different option to get to an actual human?

I always click like im about to change my address and get some1. But they are just going to read stuff to you.

Their "human" is like a machine. They only tell you "oh, I understand your frustration. We can't give you any estimated time. The average processing time is 5 months... blah blah blah" soo.... I'm telling you, calling them makes no sense. We've called them 3 times I think and they couldn't give us any information. This is so bad...

Our K-1 journey:

02-20-2012 - I-129F package sent

03-03-2012 - NOA1 received

09-26-2012 - RFE

10-09-2012 - RFE response sent

10-15-2012 - status changed to "RFE review"

10-31-2012 - NOA2 (after 8 months of hell!)

11-09-2012 - NVC received

11-20-2012 - medical examination

11-22-2012 - packet 3 from the Embassy received and sent back

12-06-2012 - interview: approved

12-17-2012 - POE: Washington DC

12-29-2012 - Wedding

AOS

03-01-2013 - AOS package sent

04-28-2013 - EAD/AP approved

08-02-2013 - update from USCIS (it may take another 6 months from now due to delays!)

09-30-2013 - AOS approved

I found the old thread somewhere here on VJ (Chat with director): why calling them doesn't help.

OK, why can't we get through to you? The 1-800 line is useless. Those are contract employees and they are trained to select answers from a menu of 14 answers. They pick which one is best for your question. There are thousands of visas being processed at any time and everyone is special and everyone has special circumstances and if we had direct lines we weould do nothing but field requests by petitioners to give them priority, we just can't do it. How would you feel if your petition got bumped because some woman called and cried on the phone and then her petition got moved up ahead of yours. We simply have to operate in a way that avoids any chance of fraud, corruption or unfairness

Your timeline shows your petition is at CSC. I think they are pretty much faster than VSC in this season. You will get your NOA2 sooner. It could come any day now. Good luck!

Thanks for the responses. This is all what I figured. My fiancée's neighbors have been asking her "what IF you don't get your visa?" Augh that's annoying. I keep telling her if she doesn't get a visa (which I know she will), to tell them that we'll just fly to the moon together.

I know we aren't even to the 5 month timeframe yet, but seeing these other applicants near my NOA1 date and after get approved is a little hard to take. I'm very patient. We went almost a year between last summer and just a few weeks ago from seeing each other in person. Now that I was just there to see her, I do want to be with her daily. But, I am able to wait a few short months until the visa is issued.

One more week here, lets see how it gos this week. Not expecting anything. Just gonna sit here and watch the CSC people celebrate and the VSC get frustrated.

Im starting to really assimilate its not gonna happen till mid September

haha, i am just pretending to have a positive attitude really, because i hope it makes everyone (others as well as me) feel better. but really... i am getting more and more frustrated too and sometimes can't even believe i'll ever get our NOA2, not to speak of the visa.... :crying:

but hey, last week DID look a lot better than the ones before, so at least we've been seeing some movement lately... they just have to keep up their work now....
