Wow I hope it gets resolved quickly! Did USPS not deliver it fast enough or charge too much? That's who I used.

I didnt even try USPS. DHL seems to worky pretty good everytime so i stuck with them.

Really seems to be common on Latin America and France to prevent polygamy :bonk:

Same in spain i think. My fiancee was told by her friend that married a Spaniard that she was going to need that certificate (takes about 3 wks also). But i told her that in USA we dont need such thing.

Yea, we have the same thing in Poland. That's why we didn't get married here casue the US courthouses do not issue such certificates. And we would have to go through a Polish court - a 2 month process - to get a permission to get married without this certificate from my fiance. Yesterday I went to the office to pick up my birth certificate and the woman asked me if I also needed a certificate of my eligibility to marry... but I guess I'll just need my passport in the US, right?

Hey everyone sorry its been a while since ive been on here. I have been very busy gathering all the paperwork for the lawyer to inquire about why ICE is holding my fiance visa. She is hoping to know within two or three weeks from now so that i can finally move on from this madness with my soon to be wife.

i finally have some time to tell you guys how everything went! poe (newark) was really easy: the only thing asked me was "when are you getting married" - other than that, there was just lots of waiting in line ;)

theres really not much else to tell you about poe, because it was SO easy!! everyone was really nice to me - much nicer than each time i entered on ESTA and also much nicer than they were to everyone else in secondary.. ;)

the last few days here have been pretty busy - just getting new stuff for the house and unpacking, fighting cockroaches ;) and then, of course, still the jetlag.

but i am very glad i am here now :D

keeping my fingers crossed for each one of you!!!! i know everyone says this, but it really IS worth it! ;)

UPDATE

Russian goverment has put a temporary ban on ALL shipments from individuals to individuals. it wasn't anything we did other than the fact we weren't supposed to send to her house in the first place cus it was never gonna clear up cus of this ban.

Way to go DHL. Now my package is gonna be stranded for a month or so in Russia and we have a lot of printing to do. I guess my only concern is the forms I have to sign like the I-134 And the G325a.

Who knows, maybe its not that important to be original signatures and they can be copies. All the other things i signed like the updated letter of intent doesn't matter really if its a copy i think.

I was thinking about your problem with getting documents to the embassy today, couldn't get it out of my head actually. :blush:

I would, first contact the embassy in Moscow, explain the problem, they may allow scanned/notarised copies of the documents, if not, then check if its ok to send the docs directly to the embassy since that is not 'individual to individual' or another option, go to your local USCIS office and see if they could send the docs to the embassy in Moscow on your behalf.

Well my wait has been extended .... I have to wait for a certificate of singleness ... (I never heard of such a thing) 20 days I have to wait before we can have the interview :bonk:

you have got to be kidding me

My fiancee had to have something like that too. His divorce papers weren't good enough. The embassy requested some sort of notice that he was not currently married. Luckily Macedonia prints this information on their birth certificates.

That is awful they waited this long to tell you this information. :(

That is exactly what i was thinking too. I wouldn't give up on this. Surely the embassy understands what is going on there for goodness sakes!
