Anybody have their wedding plans figured out at this stage? It's hard to plan, I know. We're thinking a beach ceremony in Key West... Hopefully. Too cold up here on January for an outdoor one.

I got an update about my case, I have hired a lawyer to inquire about ICE holding my file. She is going to very nicely find out about the status as to why they wont release it and try to work with them which should only take a few weeks. If that does not work then she will file a mandumus action which will force ICE in front of a judge and explain why they are holding my file. This will be last resort because most times they will deny the petition because it pisses them off. I hope this gets the ball rolling again.

I hope so for you, as well! What a pita... I'm so sorry. I hope your fiancé knows what you are going through (I'm sure it's so) because you are officially petitioner of the year!

Yep! We are booked in Vegas for 12/12/12. Limo picking us up at the hotel, taking us to the courthouse, heading down the strip for pictures and then back to the hotel. It's just going to be the two of us and we are very excited about it. :) Key West will be lovely. I live in the panhandle of Florida and would suggest here (Destin area) but it might be too cold here too. You never know though....it's either 80 degrees in November or 30 degrees. Go for the Keys!!

Marchies, I have been offline a while. Got back from Macedonia last week and am missing my sweetheart sooo much! Of course, he got the Embassy packet in the mail 2 hours after I left on the plane...but at least he has it. Just a few more weeks and he will be here. I think I will make it. :)

Congratulations to all of you that are approved! I see a lot of happy faces in here now.

QUESTION for you....I need to get some documents to him before his interview on Nov 15th. I was looking on the their websites and DHL and FedEx charge over $100 to ship a letter internationally. REALLY????!!!!! Does anyone know a less expensive way? I am afraid the US Post Office won't get it there in time. Let me know what you know. :)

Welcome back to the forum! It's always hard to say goodbye, but soon you won't have to ever again.

I used USPS to ship my I-134 packet. It was a substantial size. It took only 3 days and cost $48.

I send everything USPS Express mail, it gets through really quickly and is a lot less expensive than those services, and they have tracking as well.

A courthouse guy is going to marry us and we will broadcast it online for our families, since its only going to be us and my parents. After that, its off to the beach to take pics (hope it wont be too cold ;) ). The big wedding with the real dress, all our friends and family, party, etc is going to be in summer 2014 in Germany :D

I wish we had done it that way too, getting the legal marriage out of the way, and then having the space to breathe and plan the big day without the stress of immigration. It sounds like it will be a lovely day, and I hope we get to see your pictures here!
