I'm a little mad right now. I'm not sure if I should be mad at myself or not. The invitation for interview letter my fiancée got from the embassy stated that an I-864 is not required. So, I sent what I thought was sufficient proof of my income and ability to support her here.

NOPE.

The interview went fine and was short. But then the consular agent handed her a 221G and basically walked away. It requests the I-864. I should have just sent it anyways in the first place. So, now I spent 2 hours last night filling it out and making sure everything is straight, double- and triple-checking it.

Now we get to wait longer.

The visa was so close, I could taste it.

Did you send an I-134?? That should have been enough. I saw on another thread the I-864 isn't required.

haha... @kaaha, yeah, guess you were right :) and i told YOU you were getting your noa2 this week! so let's go ahead and tell each other the right lottery numbers ;) haha...

@luckyzmbr.... that really sucks, being so close and then not getting it. but it really is just a speed bump and they should be able to approve and issue your visa right after youve handed it in. so it shouldnt take much longer! youre very very close!!!! dont waste your energy now being mad - turn it into getting everything ready for when your fiancee gets there - that will keep your mind off of the stupid form. nothing you can do about it now anyways, except for filling out the form - which you did. you will be fine!!!! keeping my fingers crossed for you, so everything goes quick!!!

Thanks. I have to send the form and a copy of my 1040 to her. She will take that to the local TNT office, who will ship them to the embassy. TNT is like UPS in the states. She said the interview was short. The agent kept all of the paperwork, but didn't bother with our photos. When did you meet? How did he propose? When will you get married? She doesn't have to have another interview. So I guess we're approved as soon as my affidavit of support arrives...and gets to the right person. My fiancée said that there were other people at the embassy waiting room, and some got denied. She didn't know what kinds of visas they were applying for though.

This is just a small speed bump compared to the NOA1 to NOA2 wait. But gee whiz if I could have avoided it. I'm not really mad, just more like stubbed-my-toe-but-I-can-still-walk disappointed. I'm pretty calm. I still hope she can get here by Thanksgiving.

awww.... youre so sweet! thank you! :D although - i am not there YET... 9 more days to go for me!!! (and i am getting really excited and nervous and pretty much everything else, you can imagine... it is a really weird feeling, leaving everyone behind and knowing youre not coming back in a while, when youre, at the same time, really really happy to finally be able to live with your love.... pretty weird... i think i will need at least 2 weeks to calm down... )

I can't wait until the day when my fiance FINALLY comes home! It will be so surreal. I will have to pinch myself. And waking up the next day to make sure he really is there and not just wishful dreaming. :) That is why we are all here!

You can screen shot on pc by prssing the "Print screen" button on keyboard. Then paste it into Paint and save as a jpeg. I know how to screen shot an iPhone. What kind do you have?
