The process in our embassy is rather simple. They send u the package, you fill it all out and come with supporting evidence to the interview bringing all the paperwork with u.Pay for the visa, do the interview and the visa is issued the same day or the next day.

What Im confused about is :

1. the NVC case number part:

- after you get the NOA2 hard copy, you start calling them to ask did they send your package to the embassy. When they say YES , you figure out your case number ( I know there were instructions on our thread some pages back, I will have to find it). Is that right?

2. affidavit of support:

- my fiance will have to send me affidavit of support forms, tax transcripts, bank statement and a letter from his employer stating his job, permanent or temporary, amount he gets paid... is that all?

Other documents are a Letter of intent to marry with a newer date.. do I need his birth certificate as well?

Did I miss something?

All the help is really appreciated.

I would double check the consulate's web site to be sure you find all they require. It sounds like you have a good list going.

To get your case number, call this number: 202-663-1225. Press 1, then 0 and explain you need a K-1 case number. :)

I know I should wait at least 14 days... but it's getting worse and worse.. I am worrying about what I have to do next but I don't even have the petiion approved.. Officially - I am insane!

I know this is very difficult, seeing others approved, moving forward, getting interviews. Feels like you are frozen in quick sand and it's all Vermont's fault. I'm sorry. Do every single thing you possibly can to be ready once you do get that approval. Have all the forms ready (except for the date), get all documents needed. Be ready to spring. Don't lose hope. It will happen.
