Exactly.. at least it has been seen by a human, not still in some dark room collecting dust... I know that sounds worse than what I intended, sorry.

RFE......

Sorry to hear but really its a good thing... no more endlessly waiting.. shouldn't be more than a couple of weeks and then they can respond pretty quickly once you've sent in whats needed.

Mar 2011 - After 5mths denied for lost docs - Attempts to follow up failed. Mar 18 2012 - I-129F sent - No sign of NOA1 but they have banked the check...Jul 24 - Update - USCIS has located our file
Infopass Apt - they sorted through everything - our 2011 and 2012 file keep getting mixed up - getting us a Case# (still waiting) Dec- Infopass Appt- expecting to get a case # in about a week ..Still no Case number

Mar 2013 Infopass - advised file was in a box somewhere, and it would be quicker for us to refile. Life gets in the way... New petition submitted July 2014 .

Well as it turns out ours was collecting dust ... yet again. The person who was supposed to be working on ours had again mixed up our 2011 (long dead) and 2012 petitions. Our infopass person discovered this.. got the files sent to their office - have now separated the two again (crazy!! - so much work was put into getting the second one perfect, everything labelled clearly etc etc). Anyway they have now sorted it out - I have no idea how long before we hear but they have finally allocated a number and everything !! :)

I'm a pretty patient person but I tell you, this goes above and beyond anything else I've ever had to deal with..
