I called the congress lady today who has been helping us. She said USCIS has 6 days to reply to her inquiry and that they 'have' to reply in the next six days. I asked her what penalty there was for them if they didn't reply and she said none. So, I asked her what insures then that they will do it at all? She says they will, but if they reply that the case is still being processed that they will send another inquiry. This makes very little sense to me. She said, usually they will eventually just process the case so they don't have to reply to the inquiries anymore. What?! So, the way congress works with USCIS is to simply pester them to death? No repercussions. Just bothering them until they do something. Somehow I felt they had more power than that...

As far as being spiritual goes, there have been times in my life that I have been. As of late I'm afraid my faith in much of anything is lacking. But... who knows?

Is this who you talked to? Were they nice? Do you think that really helped your case?

Don't think it made a difference for my case, but it may for yours. Additionally, her most recent response sounded promising if I hadn't gotten an approval yet.

Anyone from October approvals : Do you have your case number already?

We were approved Oct. 2 (hard copy received Oct. 10), Ive sent 2 emails to the NVC, and up to now, no reply.

Im planning to call them anytime this week. Just wondering how long should I wait..

Just called today. NOA2 Date was 10/5. Received my MNL case number today.

Monday will mark 7 months of waiting for us. I could cope with a delay buts its the uncertainty of what if its an RFE at the end of it that gives me anxiety. I contacted my fiance's congressman and senator yesterday and got an email back from the congressman asking for more details and for my fiance to sign a release form. We will see if that helps. And we will try to do a service request when I get to the States in a few days time. I know its somewhere on here but could someone point me in the direction of the USCIS telephone number for Vermont and the options you press to get through to a tier 2? That would be really appreciated, thank you. I thought for sure we would have heard prior to my upcoming visit but I am grateful I get fly to America on Saturday to spend 2 weeks with my fiance and enjoy the fall weather in Arkansas, going to go to some craft fairs to pick out Christmas presents to bring back to England.

Oooo...it is War Eagle time!!! I miss that so much. :) Have fun!

Good news: Today is mine and my fiancees one year anniversary of our first date!! (L)

Better News: Our attorney cc:'d us on an email asking the Embassy for an interview as soon as possible. Not sure if that will help, but I am leaving to go back to the US in 10 days and would love for him to come with me. Not holding my breath though.

Bad News: The DF-156K requests "Evidence of Engagement to your finance". Umm...this is a problem for us. We have both been married before and our in our 40's. An engagement and wedding are all ceremonial as far as we are concerned. We just want to get married. We will purchase rings when he gets to the US but right now....proof?...not sure if I have any other than a year of waiting for an I-129F to be approved! You would think that would be enough. (Waiting on the attorney to answer my email about this now)

Any suggestions from my VisaJourney family? Signed document by family and friends maybe? My Facebook status change? LOL You know it is official if it is on FaceBook!

Out of curiosity, what are you all getting RFEs for? Is it lack of evidence of ongoing relationship or something different?

We got an RFE because they needed one more passport photo of my fiance :bonk:
