Out of curiosity, what are you all getting RFEs for? Is it lack of evidence of ongoing relationship or something different?

I guess I did not prove my relationship or visit to Nicaragua ... I had a picture and plane tickets ... I also need needed affidavits from friends stating that I went to Nicaragua to pursue our relationship :bonk:

I also need receipts, passport copies ... I had been there 4 times so I had to send pictures and conversations I had after the visits... etc :bonk:

Question of the day: What Port of Entry (POE) do you plan to use?

I know for some of you, it seems like it will never happen...BUT IT WILL!!! I am curious about the POE because I have been reading the reviews for JFK, which we plan to use, and it seems like they have a lot of trouble there. Depends on the day and the person, I guess. Sounds like VSC actually. Maybe they double as immigration officers at the airport for a part-time job :D

Miami or Fort Lauderdale any horror stories from there?

... the tickets aren't really proof that you travelled as far as they are concerned... would you still have boarding passes (proof that you actually boarded the plane and travelled); also copy of passport stamps; receipts from shops or ATM's during your stay. Did they actually ask for affadavits - if so, get those. Credit card/bank card statements showing you made purchases during those dates at that location.

Copies of photos should have date and location detailed on the back.

Best of luck!

p.s. also, you only need to prove you have been together once within the two years prior to sending your I-129F. So provide as much as you can for one visit if that is all you have available.

I am in Nicaragua with my fiance she is really having a hard time waiting ... she broke down in tears today ... I tried my best to comfort her... :( she is a person who worries a lot...

I'm so sorry... I know it's hard. Here's a topic for the day: putting aside obvious dangerous living conditions, who do you think the separation is hardest on? The petitioner or the beneficiary?

Before I received my RFE I was touched June 29 2012... they should have told me then I need more evidence :bonk:

Ours were touched 2x - March 20 and June 28.. Approval Oct. 2.. I was then so worried i thought we will be denied or get an RFE..

Which made me think now,if there is something written on the papers for the Consul at the interview to investigate further..

If you don't want to wait for a letter sent in the mail, just start calling them they probably got your file already. It didn't take long for us to get case# and letter from NVC arrived in the mail after 16 days of petition approved by Vermont's.
