So there was an approval today? Does this mean that VSC is actually opened and working today? Somehow, I really didn't expect that they would be.

Remember they have flex schedules? So maybe someone decided to do some work today, but officially it's a holiday off.

I called and spoke with Tier 1. She said I was still in normal times and they were processing 4 days before my date. I asked if I could put in a request and she said no. I then asked to speak to someone who could put one in for me. After 5 minutes hold an officer came on the line asked me a few questions and said the request was put in and i should hear something next week.

Just ask for tier 2.

weblngr, what 3 letters did your service request start with? I remember you guys posting on this thread about whether it maked a difference the type of request. The one they did for me was "ETC."

For me, (this will sound silly), I've always known that I would end up with a British man. After years of failures with Americans, I decided to follow what felt like going down stream instead of fighting the current, and seek "him" out. Since I work in the web development field, I hoped there must be a site out there, somewhere, meant just for American/British dating. Sure enough, there was!! Took me the longest time to get brave and sign up, and then eventually put up a profile. When my friends found out, they were very happy for me, and didn't have an idea about the process. My family was a mixed bag. Most were happy, but a few were very wary... for obvious reasons. It sounded like a fairy tale! I was adopted, and a child of divorce, so I've got several "parents". They have been very supportive of this and are baffeled by the process. NOBODY can say we didn't wait, take our time, and do it right! :)

Glad you took the step!! Your British man will be here soon!

It was ETC

That's a good point and I didn't even think about it. Was it today?

The site says On March 5th..... but it was updated today. Even when I checked this morning it was initial review and when i got home and refreshed it it said approved. So even if no one was working today it must have been automated perhaps?

Im so happy, praise be to God. I got a text that I was approved on Oct 5th, today, no rfe's. My NOA1 was March 30th! So now its time to start the other part of the process. I'll search around to find out what I can get started today. Any advice for the rest of the process would be greatly appreciated.

How about this? How did your family/friends react to getting the visa/going through the process and bringing over your fiance? :)

My family and friends are happy for us, and my fiance's family and friends are also happy for us, they are looking forward to meeting me in the US. They all saw our engagement ceremony photos and said "beautiful". We are lucky that we both have supportive family who stand with us and encourage us with words through this whole visa process.

When should I call nvc ? The end of this week ?

Start calling them after 7 days or so.

I'm having my medical too tomorrow. I'll have to get up at 3:45 (am) to catch the train to the physician's place at 5 am! I'll be glad when that is done!

How is your medical check-up going? did you get any vaccine? can you share that name of vaccine with me? I just want to know if they are the same vaccine, they're giving me. I got 3 shots today and they asked me to come back on the same day next month to complet the vaccine shots. The vaccine they gave me were:

ADT (VISA) SING

PRIORIX-TETRA VACCINE

INFLUENZA MEMBER VACCINE

It took the whole morning for my medical exam. Everything went well. If there's no health related issue the medical result is valid for 6 months. I will get my result in 4-5 days.
