Just got our NOA2. Text that the case was updated and then upon checking saw it was approved. I fully believe it was because I put a service request in Friday. If any of you still waiting haven't put one in DO SO NOW!

How about this? How did your family/friends react to getting the visa/going through the process and bringing over your fiance? :)

Of course everyone was happy for me, but they also like to joke with me. You have no idea how many times I heard "Oh...he's getting himself a green card huh?" Joke or not, it started to upset me. My response is always the same " Yep, because there is NO POSSIBLE WAY he could actually be in love with me".

That stopped that!! :)

But really...everyone is happy and all are looking forwarded to meeting him.....if this ever ends!

I called Friday and they told me my case is within normal processing time (NoA 1 3/5/12). How did you get through them for a service request. I would like to that on Tuesday if I can.

For me, (this will sound silly), I've always known that I would end up with a British man. After years of failures with Americans, I decided to follow what felt like going down stream instead of fighting the current, and seek "him" out. Since I work in the web development field, I hoped there must be a site out there, somewhere, meant just for American/British dating. Sure enough, there was!! Took me the longest time to get brave and sign up, and then eventually put up a profile. When my friends found out, they were very happy for me, and didn't have an idea about the process. My family was a mixed bag. Most were happy, but a few were very wary... for obvious reasons. It sounded like a fairy tale! I was adopted, and a child of divorce, so I've got several "parents". They have been very supportive of this and are baffeled by the process. NOBODY can say we didn't wait, take our time, and do it right! :)

Don't take that for an answer. Tell them you know for a FACT they are processing dates after. I read off the entire list of Igor's list. Keep saying you are tired of being lied to and want a service request. Tell them your file has been lost and you want it found. Keep talking no matter what... they will grow tired. They will try to say, "Each case is different.." Cut them off and say, "Mine is lost! I have waited [insert days here] days and I won't sit here and watch people who have filed after me get approved while my file just sits there in some dusty pile!!

I called and spoke with Tier 1. She said I was still in normal times and they were processing 4 days before my date. I asked if I could put in a request and she said no. I then asked to speak to someone who could put one in for me. After 5 minutes hold an officer came on the line asked me a few questions and said the request was put in and i should hear something next week.

Just ask for tier 2.

Congratulations! I called on Friday and they refused. They said that one was put in for me on 9/27 (the Tier 2 at the time told me it was a status request). The response to that service request is to wait for 90 days from the date of the letter before calling back. Maybe that's why they refuse to do another? I'm just going to wait until they update the site past March 5 and request an outside normal processing time service request.

Don't take that for an answer. Tell them you know for a FACT they are processing dates after. I read off the entire list of Igor's list. Some friends were very happy and supportive and others were a bit condescending. I've pretty much kept it to myself and only told a few people since so many things can go wrong (aka this process). Maybe it's the superstitious in me?

We are both extremely lucky, as both our families and friends have been very supportive and happy about our relationship. My grandma in particular (we have a very close relationship, as she raised me part of my childhood) has been such a help, and has been putting up with me and my moods and little breakdowns about NOA2, the NVC mess, and now getting that Packet 3 out. My fiancé's family & friends are really helpful too and always ask if they can be of help with the wedding and everything. I think moral support with this process is very important.

Just got our NOA2. Text that the case was updated and then upon checking saw it was approved. I fully believe it was because I put a service request in Friday. If any of you still waiting haven't put one in DO SO NOW!

So there was an approval today? Does this mean that VSC is actually opened and working today? Somehow, I really didn't expect that they would be.
