I tried that the other day... I demanded a tier 2 and I got put on hold for over 35 minutes with no one answering.... :ranting:

It took about 10-15 minutes waiting for me. I say try again probably on a day that most likely the call volume would not be very high. About early afternoon right after the lunch time or probably mid-morning. Surprisingly, it was much quicker than I thought since I called today at about noon CST.

I cant put in any service requests until the end of the month because I have to wait for the time to lapse on this last one. I do not believe for a minute that my backgrounds are taking that long when I have a security clearance. The Tier 2 rep I last spoke to said that those usually go very quickly and cant understand whats taking so long. The request she put in to process the backgrounds based on that was rejected and a response was given administrative hold for backgrounds. I was also told because of that I am no longer able to put in for a service request. Administrative hold now blocks that option so I am now stuck with nothing to do.

Ugghh, that totally bites!!

Wow I wonder what the deal is on the background check.

Well folks because of my trials and tribulations with my computer I lost track of where are march approvals/RFEs are ... I got my RFE... They wanted more proof of our meeting that took place in Feb. The want affidavits from my friends and family that I went to visit... So should have that by Monday to send.. Someone mentioned putting the blue RFE paper on top of the box? ... What else to should I look out for ...? Also I would like any hints as to a good affidavit format and cover letter... :help:

Sounds like you are making good progress! The blue sheet goes right on top of your stack.

Hey I got the same RFE too, yup smack the blue paper on top.

For mine, I am going to request my sister and my fiancee's mother to write an affidavit for me.

My format is

- how we met

- evidence of our interactions

- interacted in family events (then put an appendix of photographic evidence)

- indicate they are supportive of our rs

*might be useful to include emails of you interacting with your fiancee parents/family too. I added the email of my fiancee's MIL congratulating me on our engagement.

My strategy is to systematically bomb them with as much info as possible and cross reference with evidence, using a detailed time line/cover sheet

Perfect. It might help to separate the sections with tabs for organization.

Why don't they have clear guidelines of what to include in the package. Then they need pictures with HANDWRITTEN dates and issue tons of RFEs :(

ditto!

Good luck with your RFE.

Did you have handwritten notes in front? or behind your pictures?

My handwritten notes were on back of each one. I put the full date, location and full names of both of us.

Thanks, we're going to send it back on Tuesday. I don't remember, we put our package together via Skype and I admit that we might have made some mistakes. Well, we'll send it and play another waiting game with USCIS :)

Did you also re-sign on your affidavit? I'm deciding between signing and scanning to the computer Vs Fedex-ing a sign copy of affidavit to the US. Which is going to further delay me sending the RFEs.

its such a bummer!

I remember reading somewhere that they do not accept scanned signatures :/ they asked us for two more affidavits of ramily, friends, neighbors ("other that you and the person you are petitioning for") and "your own affidavit" so my fiance is going to sign it. I don't think that my signature is going to be needed on any paper. The worst thing is that they do not stamp passports in Europe and last summer we were together in France, Spain, Holland, Portugal.. ehh...
