They are realy going all out with the RFE option. To me it looks like they are just buying time- send a couple of RFE-s so that he/she can deal with other petitions on her/his table.

We sent our RFE reply on Tuesday.. so when they get it I will see on the uscis page the change in the status from RFE to RFE response or something like that ??

I don't see why some of us are taking this discussion so seriously. We're all entitled to our opinions and if so, people should agree to disagree and keep the good vibes and VSC bashing alive. I see Nick+Elizabeth's point of view and yours Kaaha (and Miguel). Regarding votes - it's all POLITICS. When a particular group of people see that the President is doing something to help their people, they'll be more inclined to vote for him. If you've read the news lately, the polls are up for the Hispanic votes for Obama. I still think that our applications shouldn't have been set aside because of this new law. The DREAM Act folks should've been given normal processing time priority like the rest of us who've been waiting. I seriously think the planning and execution of this new law were flawed. The impact and repercussions were not considered at length....all they saw were the votes that it would get him....and he may have succeeded. We'll see Nov. 6. BTW...I have Cuban heritage...

I am not going to voice my opinion about the Dream Act and politics in general on here, because it'll just make certain people upset. But I agree with what you are saying.

By the way, I do not post much here at the moment, but I am thinking of you guys and I read this thread every day. Igor's List is one of the first things I check in the mornings. I saw so many people getting approvals on Tuesday, and I was looking to find some of your names on there. I was shocked to see mostly April filers getting approved. This is just unfair.

Yes, they will change it to "Request for Evidence Response review".

That's a good idea.... I plan on doing mine by category:

1) communication (skype logs, whatsapp logs, phone bill detail, facebook messages, emails, cards, etc)

2) financial (affidavit of support, IRS transcripts, bank letter, job letter, paycheck stubs)

3) photos

4) miscellaneous (copy of k1 application, passport copy, etc..)

Etc etc

That's a good idea! I am currently doing the whole Proof of Ongoing relationship stuff (and it's become A LOT over the past 2.5 years!), and I am trying to figure out how to organize everything. Probably I will be doing it as follows:

1) Cover Letter

2) Checklist + forms I have to send in

3) Affidavit of Support (remember, you have to send in the evidence of income and resources in duplicate!! We would have forgotten about it if my fiancé's mom hadn't pointed it out to us)

4) Proof of Ongoing Relationship

Instruction for Germany is different from us. I only need to send check list form, DS 230 Part1 and I-134, the rest is to keep for interview day. Could you list down evidence of income and resources you have? I just want to make sure we don't miss anything important.

For proof of ongoing relationship, we have skype, phone call, many hundreds of email, tickets from visiting places together, and lots of photos together too. I'm trying to figure out the best way to organize stuffs.

I'm not sure what's going on. There is an interview with a former USCIS agent somewhere on this site that says it takes only 15 minutes from open to close to approval a petition. So, that said, it seems to me it would take more time to do an RFE because you will be seeing the same petition twice and have additional paperwork? However, it does appear there are a lot of RFE's being issued. Maybe the USCIS agents are in a bad mood from having to do 90,000 expedited Dream Act Petitions? Haha.

Yes, that's true, Germany requires everything in advance. I know other countries don't. I don't have the documents from my fiancé yet for the Affidavit of Support, but as far as I know, he is sending me:

- form I-134

- last year's tax transcript (not sure if we will actually send it along)

- pay stubs from January until now for all his jobs (he gets hourly pay, so this is the only more or less precise way to figure out his annual income)

- letters from his employers

- bank statements

- proof of assets (he decided to include his assets, even though we are over the minimum income)

(As pointed out before, everything except for the form itself in duplicate, as written in the I-134 instructions.)

I'm not sure if I have forgotten anything, but this is what I remember. Geez, we only went over this yesterday evening - my brain is terrible! :bonk:

It takes one full day for my agent to touch one single file.

I've read you don't have to file duplicate.

I think you are actually correct! I think they really are going backwards.

I think I read it in the main K-1 threads. I would honestly post a question there and get the definite answer!
