It seems like the only real action is on Wednesdays and Thursdays. I've ruled out Friday and Monday.

That's exactly right.

That's exactly right.

Also, I really think those of you who have been checking case numbers in your "stack" are the next to be approved. With lots of numbers around you being worked on you would think yours is on the table. None of the numbers in mine have anything.

Hhhmmm any chance your dad can try making some phone calls again? All I need is an email to the service center director. I want to write an email very badly.

No... He loves Jayson and has said on several occasions how excited he is to have a son in law to hang out with (my brother apparently isn't so cool lol) but he can't help. He has contacts, but if he tries to pull strings and hand out numbers or emails to the general public, he could be fired. Ive asked, and have been denied. And I'm his daughter. Hs exited to have Jayson here, but there is nothing he can do to help. If he was in their department, probably, but he's not.

What's a good topic? I'd like to hear about everyone's ways of dealing with cultural differences and what they are but I'm afraid that may get offensive if taken in the wrong context.

What about our biggest hurdles in relationship because of cultural backgrounds?

Mine was jaysons lack of understanding to why I love puppies. Dogs there wonder the streets and steal food. They are not domesticated. I will win him over when he arrives. I want a puppy so bad. Lol

Further a huge love of his is kapenta. It's fish they leave to dry for a week in the sun... Then eat it. It tastes like it smells... Dry rotting fish. I've told him I'm never making it and if he eats it he will not be kissing me that night. I've tried it. Couldn't manage it and I've eaten bugs. Zambia likes weird food lol

He's great about it and since I've tried it understands. But he forced me to try it before I rejected it completely. Out of love I did it. And out of love he won't force me to make it for him.

HA!! Same here with my fiance and cats. I like them but in Manila they are scavengers who wander the streets.

Food is a whole other ball of wax for me. I very much disliked what my fiance called food. Mostly what we would consider the garbage parts of the animal are delicacies there. No dried fish will be in my house!

England and America aren't too far apart, but I'd say it's his love for the European cosmopolitan life... he has yet to experience our East Coast ways, and of course West Coast ways. He has only experienced the Southern way so far. Those who have lived around the US know what I mean. :innocent:

I got a RFE soo I'm still on the list :)

And according to today's topic .. :) My fiance was born in Peru and I LOVE!! that (I hope no one is going to get offended that he was naturalized) I love their music, food, dancing! I also speak Spanish so we have a lot in common. He is a perfect mixture of Latin American customs and he lives in the US which I really enjoy. I spend 6 months in the States and it's so different than my country: organized, clear, and people are so nice. I remember, when he was in Poland last summmer, he tried my grandmother's pierogi (dumplings) with strawberries and he was so disgusted haha... he never tried them in a sweet version. He didn't want to offend my family so he ate them but then complained to me :)

Nice topic.. Fortunately for me, I'm also Jamaican...so we share the same cultural background. We can communicate in the local dialect and we eat the same foods, etc... Even though I've been in the USA for quite some time, I still maintain my cultural background in most things that I do...
