WE ARE APPROVED!!! No RFE!!! Haven't checked in a week and sure enough we were approved yesterday. Maybe that is the trick...don't look every 2 hours like I was doing. :) Still keeping all the Marchies in my prayers though.

By the way, we did not get an email notice either. I checked the site directly

Ok, so now....how long can we estimate a VISA in hand? 4-6 weeks? Is that too long or not long enough?

we didn't get an email notification either... just an text approval message. congrats.

Rong & David, I LOVE your avatar pic... "Initial Review"....

I needed that, because I got my congresswoman's response in the mail today. As expected, a generic form reply from USCIS:

"Petition with assigned case number EACxxxxxxx was received on March 9, 2012, and is pending review at the Vermont Service Center (VSC). VSC is currently processing this form type within a receive date of February 27, 2012 or earlier. You can find the current processing times posted on the website."

So this is the same message they have on the site.. February 27. They renewed the site and response forms with that date and that is the story they are pumping out to the public. Yet we know for a fact beyond the shadow of a doubt they are processing late March petitions.

Thank you Mr Smiley, and Rong and David :)

My fiance had an appointment in INS like a month ago. They told him they cold do something if VSC claimed that they were working on March 1st or later... but then they were saying Jan 16, now it's Feb 27... We will just wait... I think I've already faced up with the fact that we may not make it until Christmas.. Unless something moves next week or in early October..

Have a great Sunday everyone, while VSC emploees chill with their spouses..

Our K-1 journey:

02-20-2012 - I-129F package sent

03-03-2012 - NOA1 received

10-09-2012 - RFE response sent

10-15-2012 - status changed to "RFE review"

10-31-2012 - NOA2 (after 8 months of hell!)

11-09-2012 - NVC received

11-20-2012 - medical examination

11-22-2012 - packet 3 from the Embassy received and sent back

12-06-2012 - interview: approved

12-17-2012 - POE: Washington DC

12-29-2012 - Wedding

AOS

03-01-2013 - AOS package sent

Seems the case status portion of the USCIS site is down for maintenance this morning. Hopefully that will fix the lack of emails sent for notifications or fix the updates in general.

You just know it's automated... Nobody actually there on a Sunday.

Hey I've a question now that October is here. Our fiances will now need flu shots at their medical, right?

Hey I've a question now that October is here. Our fiances will now need flu shots at their medical, right?

I read on the Bureau of Consular Affairs website where it said:

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_2994.html#7

K visa applicants are encouraged to get the vaccinations required under U.S. immigration law for immigrant visa applicants. Although such vaccinations are not required for K visa issuance, they will be required when adjusting status to that of legal permanent resident following your marriage. Applicants are therefore encouraged to fulfill these vaccination requirements at the time of the medical examination. See Vaccination Requirements for IV Applicants for the list of required vaccinations and additional information.

So that means K visa applicants can choose not to take any shot at medical exam, and can fulfill that later on in the US......but some people said they need to have vaccinations before they are granted a visa which confused me.
