Michelle Obama was at my work place (surprise to us all). Too bad I took the day off today to do some errands and have a mental health day. If I had been there I'd tell her I'd donate my entire (miniscule) wedding budget to the campaign if they brought me my love. I'd say it Romney too if it got me what I wanted lol

For the Germans amongst you - I sent everything in beforehand, and all I brought with me was my passport and my invitation letter (They said my pack 3 was "perfect" :D ). They gave me my engagement evidence stuff back, as well as the originals of my birth cert and the police report. If any of you has more questions, just pm me.

Congratulations!!! I will send you a message later this weekend, as I have a couple of questions about the interview.

I don't think the 8 months national average is correct. Before this week, the national average was at 7.2 months, while at the same time it was reported that VSC and CSC were at 5 months (so it wouldn't have made sense either). My guess is that they still have the Texas Service Center (which, as we all know, quit processing K1's in 2010 and thus shows 15 months processing time for K1's) somewhere in their system. 5 months for VSC + 5 months for CSC + 15 months for TSC might make the 8.5 months national average.

For February / March filers at VSC, average wait right now is around 6 months.

Do a timeline search and limit to K1s at VSC, NOA1 dates from 2/1/12 to 4/1/12 - NOA1 in Feb & March. You'll see 379 petitions total, 184 petitions with NOA1 and NOA2 received (less than half), with an average of 180 days for from NOA1 to NOA2. 3 petitions have a final visa. (Less than 1%)

Press the back button. Change the service center to CSC and run it again. You'll see 300 petitions total, 254 petitions with NOA1 and NOA2 (over 80%), with an average of 134 days between them. 40 petitions have a final visa. (Around 13%)

So basically if you filed in Feb or March and were routed to VSC, average time for you is 180 days, or approximately 6 months. If you were routed to CSC, average time for you is 134 days, or approximately 4.5 months.

I still can't believe there are people on VJ who either say this isn't really happening (both are slow), or think it's fair (cases don't need to be more equitably distributed).

I sure hope that 8.5 months isn't based on some inside information that leads them to expect things to slow down even more.

:(

Thanks M for that explanation. I fear the average for VSC is creeping closer to 200, as many of us are beyond 180 days :(. But I agree with all you have said.

Do you mean me, M & R? I never said it isn't true that we have to wait 6-7 months at VSC to get approved (I have been through it, so I know it is true). I just answered other people's question about the USCIS website and their "official" processing times. There is a difference between what they state on their website and what is really happening, that is for sure. But I still do not believe the average 8.5 months are correct either.

Don't you love how they keep the date just beyond what they are actually working on?

Well I will still be here checking in, for this site is here to offer fellowship and support. Have a great week and I'll miss you.

Of course, I'm going to stick with VJ, checking in daily, also getting obsessed checking case status everytime I get on my PC, otherwise I'll be going insane, and no matter what I do to keep myself busy, my mind always drifts back to this process. We're going to be hitting 200 days next week and approval could come any time any day now!!!!!

Good luck! Try not to let the whole process consume you. Even though it might seem like an endless wait right now, you will get your NOA2 soon, of that I am sure!
