My fiancee is going for her interview monday (fingers crossed). Up to this point everything has gone smoothly. Just curious if anyone else has gone thru the process since the interview was moved to Sweden. We were curious how they mail the visa to her, I assumed that they would keep the passport and then mail back the passport with the visa in it but since it is in sweden how would she get back to norway? Any info would be greatly appreciated and if no one here know ill be sure to post an update once we go thru the process.

You can cross Norwegian/Swedish borders without a passport. Ask her about the Norwegian phenomenon of "harrytur til Svinesund" sometime. :P

Married since 03/02/2011, AOS from F-1 visa, green card granted 05/24/2011.
Blessed with a healthy baby boy, 08/19/2011! We get to keep our family together! Thank you! smile.png

Haha, I had to laugh here :)

To the question, no passport is needed when traveling inside most of Europe. There are no immigration checks even between Norway and Italy, much less Norway and Sweden!

BUT!!!

Be careful, some airlines ONLY accept passports as valid ID. Make sure she plans how she's traveling. If by car or train, no problem. If flying, Norwegian Air Shuttle won't even let her on without a passport. Scandinavian Airlines tends to accept a copy of the biographic page along with a separate form of ID and a good excuse. If flying, I'd still call them ahead and make sure. I'm going to Sweden myself for the interview some time in the summer.
