I'm the Lone Ranger. Five can be Bat Masterson.

Considering my flabby boobs and weak ankles, Fat Masterson might be more fitting.

Or you can be Doc Holliday, one of my favorite characters from the old west.

I wanted to be Calamity Jane!

Hubby came through. He brought the Arabian tack back ! It was very expensive and all hand made. The workmanship and materials are excellent. There was supposed to be a blanket to go along with the breast collar and headstall, but that would have taken another week to complete, so I am minus the blanket. The maker wanted American dollars, not Egyptian pounds and hubby said he had a very difficult time in locating it, but it is here and I think Koda looks great in it. Please overlook the muddy feet and shaggy winter coat.

BEAUTIFUL! :)

edit- just out of curiosity, what type of snaffle bit is that? I use a soft snaffle without loose rings ( no pinching) but I'm looking for a gentler 'joint'.

edit again- I'll probably get a French link. Not sure. I'll wait until after his teeth get floated later this month.

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

Long time, no hear from! It is a copper D ring snaffle. I recently bought a stainless snaffle Kimberwick for another headstall. Wanted a sweet iron, but no could find.

Yeah, been busy and now I'm just killing time waiting for an appointment.

I'm trying to remember where I saw sweet iron bits at......I'll post when it comes back to me :/

I like the D rings. No pinching and rattling like those awful loose ring ones.

Rokitov is shedding up a storm which I am always relieved to see and his shiney coat is coming through...but the flies are back.

I agree about the loose ring snaffle. I have one and it's worthless.

No flies yet, but the shedding is going on and probably will for awhile. I never use a shedding blade, just brush him every day. Here, we may still get some cold days until the end of May, so no hurry in getting that shaggy winter coat off.

The farrier comes today. Koda has some wearing on the front tips of his feet and needs that evened out.

Look I apologized about that incident, why won't you forgive me?

I hope Koda was a good boy with the farrier. I haven't looked at pasture management issues, now that we've had an unusually mild winter.

I used to use a full cheek eggbutt snaffle with Kassan. The eggbutt prevented the joint at the cheek from pinching her mouth, and the full cheek meant that I could develop a really light contact on the rein and not have to worry about the touch being lost with the ring moving forward into her mouth if she opened her mouth to get above the bit. She sometimes did that which is why I also used a figure eight nose band that helped to keep the bit in the proper place in her mouth and unlikely to be pushed forward by her tongue or knock against her teeth. She liked to play with the bit a lot in her mouth which kept her mouth nice and soft. I can't tell from the photo but is Koda's D-ring snaffle an eggbutt as well or is it jointed at the ring? Copper mouth bars are definitely good for keeping a soft mouth on a horse.

Geesh - spellcheck keeps changing the words!

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
