The pastures have been fallowed and I was told they will be attended to every 2 weeks from now on.

Teeth, sheath, and fecal will be done today, along with coggins and spring boosters.

Hubby came through. He brought the Arabian tack back ! It was very expensive and all hand made. The workmanship and materials are excellent. There was supposed to be a blanket to go along with the breast collar and headstall, but that would have taken another week to complete, so I am minus the blanket. The maker wanted American dollars, not Egyptian pounds and hubby said he had a very difficult time in locating it, but it is here and I think Koda looks great in it. Please overlook the muddy feet and shaggy winter coat.

Koda looks lovely in his new harness. The blanket looks exquisite! That really is beautiful, and what a wonderful 'gift' for your husband to get for you . You must be very proud of them both.

Appaloosa horses

Which horse is the ultimate Native American? Certainly The Appaloosa.

The Appaloosa is a breed of horse native to North America.

Known for his trademark coat speckled, This horse has hunted the buffalo with the Native Americans. Its name comes from the Palouse River that bordered the territories of their first Breeders.

the modern Appaloosa thanks to improvement in English Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse now has a less rustic, Indeed with the exception of the mantle, the model is almost identical to the Quarter Horse.

The three important characteristics of Appaloosa are the sclera (part of the eye) as white men, vertically striped hooves, mottled skin especially on the nose and around the genitals. In addition, horsehair tail and mane are poor and underdeveloped.

The length of the neck is proportionate to the body, defined withers and shoulder slightly tilted. The ribs broad and deep body with strong legs. The hooves are very elastic.

The Appaloosa are very brave, have a docile nature and the so-called “cow-sense” making them suitable to work with livestock.
