Do you have him at a boarding facility or at your home?

Yeah, that sounds too calm for an Arab. Mine has to dominate and insist every horse yield to him. And he is only 14.3.

I ride every day, even if some days it is only for 10 minutes. I basically had to re train this guy to slow down. I believe he was previously used for speed because there was absolutely no stop in him whatsoever. :help:

He's boarded at the painthorse ranch down the road from me. Do you board? I really love where he is at as they are great and show their horses, so he gets all the good stuff :P he also has his own stable and pasture near his horse buddies too.

Yeah- Roki will try it on at the dominating stuff occasionally, but he has a great temperament. Very aware and sometimes spooky, but a lot of that is his breed. Fast...oh yeah :) Not a jumper, though.

I occasionally show him English and Western pleasure and he does really good.

I'm considering buying the Arabian tack and showing him that way. No one does that here and I think that would be fun. All the make up and tack is gorgeous...but omg, pricey!

Do you ride Western or English? I prefer English ( that's what I've always done). Roki doesn't mind either way.

edit-horse.com has good prices for stuff and smartpak is great for supplements :)

edit again--typo on the height around 15.1 give or take. still tall, tho. I need coffee.

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

I prefer bareback and a side pull. I have both English and western tack, and if I HAVE to use one, I use the English. And that is only when I am riding outside the arena . I just hate restricting my horse because I wouldn't like to have some tight cinch binding me nor would I like being pulled by the mouth and head. I dunmo, that's just me, though.

I also board, but I chose pasture board because it is more natural. They have a huge lean to and Koda is blanketed during the winter. I feel sorry for the stall boarded ones. Poor things! It reminds me of a prison cell.

My husband is supposed to bring me an Arabian bridle from Egy, but so far he says he can't find one. He says they are more popular in Syria. I really do want one !

Horse.com gets all my business. SmartPak is good, too, but I think it's a bit expensive.

I don't show Koda, although I heard he once had a career. I just bought him for a best forever friend, and he IS the best friend anyone could ever have. I guess I'm being partial, naturally.

Roki is fine with his tack, it's soft, light and good quality and custom to fit him and when I use a bitted bridle it's a gentle bit. No probs. I don't do bareback, though.

Totally agree on the stall-...there is no way I'd keep him stalled, either. He would hate that.

He has a stall in his pasture ( paddock) he can use if he wants and blankets too in the winter, but it's not too often here in TX they are needed.

I've just stocked up on fly repellent. I use a natural fly killer and traps rather than the sprays. It works really well. Are the flies bad there too?

Take pics of the Arabian bridle when you get it. I'd love to see it.

I bet Koda would look stunning.

Well, I am hoping he will come through, but as of last conversation he is having no luck in finding the bridle. At this point, I don't care if it is a regular beat up old one as long as it comes from Egypt. My husband should be back next week.

Oh dear, don't remind me about the fly spray. We have those huge deer flies from hell. Koda will not allow me to spray him so I have to put it on a sponge and apply it. Usually the fly season starts around May. :help: :help: :help:

That is no laughing matter. Can you imagine the horror that foal was going through with the noise and the people chasing him? He/she was probably beside himself with emotion.
