Time to hit the trails .

It was indeed a lovely day for the trails. I rode English then put the western saddle on Koda for hubby. I really need to get another pad for the English, though. Of course, a neoprene girth would be nice, too.

Because of his speed and talent, I will be taking the old man out of retirement and entering him into a show next month. Barrel competition. I believe that is what he used to do because he knows the pattern very well.

A friend sent me this video tonight and I immediately thought that this thread was a perfect place to share it. I have always loved Friesians! While the carriage horses' action is enhanced through training with weighted shoes, the Friesian's natural action is high with lovely extension - which is why they have been favourite carriage horses for centuries in their native Netherlands. The dressage riding shows a better illustration of their more natural, albeit 'trained', gait. Enjoy!
