CANADIAN THANKSGIVING

So what's everybody's plans for our Thanksgiving this weekend?? I don't have any plans yet, hubby is working. We may just go out for supper seeing I cooked a wicked big turkey last week with the trimmings and most of it's in the freezer. There was just the 2 of us, but the bird has been staring at me everytime I opened the freezer, so I thought it was time I took him out . Another holiday I'll miss being away from my family Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians

not sure what we are doing...bill might come over from vermont ..maybe not...still finishing up on the home that was built for us....a little blue here...cause we just heard it may not be before january for the interview....but...i do wish all my fellow canadians a very happy thanksgiving!!! .

Nothing special here either - the American thankisgiving is the big one. I will call my Dad and speak with him and be a little lonesome for what I left behind, but it will pass. And I'll be doing the regular laundry.

For those who want to keep in touch with Canadian news, you can sign up to receive a daily summary from CBC at www.cbc.ca. You can also link to cbc radio through the same website. I also still read the daily and weekly newspapers from back home and the globe and mail (www.globeandmail.com). I have also found the Connect2Canada site excellent - I signed on through the Atlanta Canadian Consulate who also send me a capsulized summary of Canadian news every day. Connect2Canada is for Canadians living in the US sponsored by the Canadian Embassy and helps us keep in touch with one another socially. Oh yes, I read the local US papers too:-).

Hey guys, Happy Thanksgiving... I'm getting ready to head out to the airport this afternoon to be with my fiance in Virginia (with a very thick folder showing ties to Canada!!!). I'm not counting on having a turkey unless Sean brings me to Denny's for a turkey sandwiche... lol

Regardless, I am willing to sacrifice a Thanksgiving holiday with my family to be with my hunny Have a great weekend everyone and talk to you all when I get back!

I'll be spending thanksgiving with my family guess its the last one here for me, big dinner sunday. I work the monday holiday though. 14 more days till i meet hubby in billings for a weekend together, which may be the last visit for a bit with christmas and all the fees to pay. happy turkey day everyone. True that Yank Thanksgiving is more of a to-do. At my office, we do have Columbus Day off (hence my plans to see Liberty Bell in Philly). The weekend (incl. Friday) after Yank Thanksgiving, we will be going to Vassar--may even stop at Windsor to visit church family as this will be "safe" (basically GC interview will be done, and temp stamp in place--no need to apply for visitor visa, especially with the potential "red flag" of my Canuck citizenship).

i'll be watching hockey games (got my NHL centre ice package today! ) and eating pumpkin pie.

i'll miss seeing my family, although i've not been away all that long, but i'll not miss the turkey roll and stove top stuffing. it was my sister's turn to have dinner & that's what we got the last time! LOL

I was looking into NHL Center Ice ... I am a major Vancouver Canucks fan and I heard that they have alot of their games on it ... Only problem is living in Illinois I would be 2 hours ahead on home games so might be some late nights
