If they already cashed the check - you wont get the money back.

Put a stop order on the check if they had not cashed it yet. Call the bank and cancel the check.

The petitioner needs to mail a letter requesting cancellation of the I-130 if its already been accepted ( check cashed etc. )

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

send off a postal letter to the address referenced in the Receipt notice, that formletter I-797-C (commonly referred to here as the NOA-1)

include in the letter:

The Receipt #

the petitioner's and beneficiary's bio data

a quickie paragraph that you wish to withdraw the I-130 petition.

Hi.

We have sent in the i-130 and wish to cancel it.

How do we do this, and do we get the money back?

Contact USCIS to cancel the petition.

You are not likely to get your money back. The fee is for USCIS to handle the petition. Just opening up envelope means they are handling it, so no refund. Your only chance of keeping your money is to successfully cancel the check before it is cashed.
