My Fiancee and I are just about to get started on this whole process I have read through lots of different things and figured out most parts but there are a few bits I am unsure with.

I am a UK citizen with permanent residency in New Zealand (moved here about 5years ago with my parents) is the residency in New Zealand likely to effect it at all? I can actually apply for citizenship in NZ now but I don't know if that will look bad on my application (or if I should go for it just incase we want to come live here someday).

The other thing I couldn't work out from the forms is can we put down her parents as sponsors (I also have grandparents in US I could put down if allowed) as my fiancee is pretty much fresh out of school and her income alone doesn't meet the requirements.

I am tempted to get some legal help doing this but this website seems to suggest its not too difficult to do without if you can manage forms (which I am fine with).

I dont think it will have an effect but she is originally from Serbia (came to US when she was 10yrs old and is now 21 with US Passport)

No problem if your fiancee is a US citizen and free to marry on the date she applies.

The US only recognizes US citizenship. From the standpoint of the US you should be fine but you would need to check if you are allowed to get NZ citizenship while applying for K-1 visa with NZ government. When you apply you will be a UK citizen. You simply put that you are residing in NZ. You will need police certificates from the UK and NZ.

Thanks for the reply, ive looked up and I cant go for NZ citizenship if I dont intend to live in NZ but thats fine because I have permanent residency which will get me back in NZ if I need to come back. Good to know about the UK and NZ police report, I will look into that as I dont want to keep getting held up (I expect getting police report from UK might be the hold up since im over here)

Last thing I need to know is if I can put down other people as the sponsers?

I also notice on the forms they ask about what you have already, being young I have next to nothing on paper when compared to someone who has a house and savings.
