Hello to all my fellow VJ members,

I do hope all is well as we await our responses from the various agencies.

I have a quick question or three that may be on someone elses mind also.

Is it advisable or recommended to submit new evidences to the Consul through

the NVC when you submit your AOS and other requested documents?

e.g. Additional evidence of ongoing financial support, co-mingling of finances,

correspondence of any kind, receipts from online flower purchases, receipts from

mailing birthday gifts etc.......

Can, or will this delay the NVC process?

Do you think it is worthwhile to do this so that the Consul has this additional information in

your file, in his/her hand, reviewing this evidence before you are in front of them at the interview?

I know others here have done this, and would the case number need to be printed on every document in upper

right corner to maintain consistency and accuracy of file?

Give me your take on this.......pros and cons.

Thanks all and I bid you all glad tidings and happy responses.

You can save those for the interview. For the IV and AOS packages, we attached only the legal documents like applicant's birth certificate, the marriage certificate, DS-230, I-864, proof of income and so on. We IV and AOS stuff separately of course.

I brought evidence of ongoing ties with me to the embassy interview.

If NVC does not ask for it then just hold on to those documents and bring it on the interview and wait if the CO asks for it.

Some people do send additional evidence at NVC stage, but they usually file for a spouse who will interview in a "difficult" embassy, where extensive proof of bona fide relationship is required and just bringing evidence to the interview is not enough.

Is Rio a difficult embassy to go through? Are they reknown for denying visas based on lack of evidence when they actually refused to look at what applicants brought with them?

If yes, then go for it.

If no, then it's most probably unnecessary.

Interviews are consul specific, see threads in your situation. We took everything on our AOS, they did not ask to see it other than additional stuff to show marriage, like AAA, auto insurance bank cards etc. Each IO is different better to be prepared than not.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

It is important that this type of question go to the correct country portal. So, please edit your profile completely.

Make sure the 6th box down is checked for the BENEFICIARYS COUNTRY

you have the 10th box filled in for the embassy/consulate.

But to get the flag under your name and to get your questions to go to the correct country portal you need to edit the 6th box.

That way people from your country can give you the best answers for that embassy

Good Luck

Can, or will this delay the NVC process?

It's up to you if you want to submit evidence to the NVC or not, if you opted to do so, you would do so with the DS-230 package. I will mention submitting extra items to the NVC could slow processing down simply because they have to sort through those extra items.

Some people do send additional evidence at NVC stage, but they usually file for a spouse who will interview in a "difficult" embassy, where extensive proof of bona fide relationship is required and just bringing evidence to the interview is not enough.

Agree with this.

I sumbit additional evidence with the IV package because I didn't send anything other than my marriage certificate with the I-130 application. New Delhi is a difficult embassy to go through so I didn't want them to make a decision before meeting us. I sent about 50 pages of evidence but I don't think they go through it because my case was reviewed in 4 days. Well, I want the consul to see it not NVC.

I agree to what Laure&Colin say -see if Rio is a difficult emabassy.
