Sorry, but I am confused and don't know what everyone mean by saying " TOUCHED". I have received my NOA1 does this mean my case has been touched? My next question is for those of you who have had approvals from California Service Center. Are they quick or they take longer to have a case approved? It is over 3 months for me and no NOA2 yet, should I be worried? I appreciate your insight. Thanks

Touched can mean anything from someone reviewing your documents and working on your case, or someone has moved your petition from one desk to another.

Reading the timelines of people on VJ will help a lot. (F)

Some petitions that went at CSC were processed quicker than those at VSC. It takes over 5 mths sometimes depending on the number of petitions . My case was processed at VSC and took over 6 mths . Good luck . Touched means that they looked at your petition or it was moved from one desk to another .

Thank you both for your quick replies. Whenever I check my case, it says " INITIAL REIVEW". I am a little worried.

It will say that until a decision is made. Everyone waiting between NOA1 and NOA2 will see that for months.

You'll see it change when the petition is either approved or denied (or a request is made for more evidence). Until then, don't worry.

Just be patient. I looked at the words "Initial Review" for 7 months straight. It was never touched - not once. Meaning I had not even the slightest bit of knowledge of what was going on with my petition, or if anyones eyes even saw it.

Just be positive and keep yourself busy. It is the only thing you can do really. Also, talk to your loved one as much as possible:) Although long distance is torture...the good the bad and the ugly comes out and it makes you stronger. Along with keeping you both sane throughout this long wait.
