How our spouses are dealing with Administrative processing

I decided to start this topic because my husband and I are trying to stay with our hopes up. He has been in AP for 1 month.( I read in this forum some members almost 1 year) It has been hard on us because before we did have a plan, now we don't have any. Sometimes he feels helpless because he is not working because he is thinking they will call him anytime or they will denied. On the other hand, I continue my routine work, come home to see him in skype. We talk everyday for 4 hours then I go to sleep but I try to stay strong for him and for myself and Thanks I got God. I would like to share this poem with all of us who are in AP

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed

he was walking along the beach with the LORD.

Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.

For each scene he noticed two sets of

footprints in the sand: one belonging

to him, and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him,

he looked back at the footprints in the sand.

He noticed that many times along the path of

his life there was only one set of footprints.

He also noticed that it happened at the very

lowest and saddest times in his life.

This really bothered him and he

questioned the LORD about it:

"LORD, you said that once I decided to follow

you, you'd walk with me all the way.

But I have noticed that during the most

troublesome times in my life,

there is only one set of footprints.

I don't understand why when

I needed you most you would leave me."

The LORD replied:

"My son, my precious child,

I love you and I would never leave you.

During your times of trial and suffering,

when you see only one set of footprints,

it was then that I carried you."

Hi Evelyn,

I know this is the hardest part of the journey. We call it the black abyss because we do not know what is going on with the file or what they are checking or HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE? We are all frustrated with this unknown. It causes alot of anxiety and fear.

Both sides lives are on hold. He cannot start packing or quit his job. I cannot change jobs... I think of relocating to be with him but I have responsibilities here in the USA. So my life is frozen waiting for them to release his visa so we can begin our lives together.

I know Turkey does not have alot of people posting their AP or filling out their timelines. But, Egypt started a Ap tracker so we could see how long everyone's AP took and how many more are waiting.

FBI states 80-85% are completed in 72 hours

then like 10% take 120 days

then the last 1-2% take a LONG time

Hang in there. Thank God for Skype and messenger. It keeps us sane and at least we can communicate daily when the internet is strong. We try to make sure each other is comfortable and calm. Somedays it is him that has to calm me down and sometimes it is me that has to keep his spirits up. Teamwork through this is a must.

Evelyn, yes it makes it hard. When a man is not working it will break him down. Loose thought, loose self esteem. I know. I'm there.

Yes togetherforever13 is right its definitely a black abyss and no known time for anything... my husband and i talk about it and sometimes laugh and say at least a baby would come in 9 months for that we know for sure has an end... all kidding aside its heartbreaking its emotionally draining but you MUST make your life as normal as possible for what your normal is for now.

We try to stay online 100% of the time that we both are home,..ill do laundry cook clean he will help the girls with their homework, sing to them or even read to the baby. We try to keep our lives as tho he was here and when we aren't at home we email and call.

Just stay focused on your marriage and make this your time to really dig into your communication. We never run out of things to talk about and sometimes like today i showed him the local papers showing where the bad tornadoes hit and we discussed the area i live and how dangerous it could be here.

It's more the fact we just dont know anything than the actual AP procedure... its like when the drs office calls and asks you to come in. they dont say why but you worry until they give you the good news...

We are all here for eachother and know you are not alone!!!
