I'll be leaving Nova Scotia on the sixth for my medical, and won't be back for a week due to timing...Lots of me sitting in a hotel room playing WoW and attempting to amuse my lonely, shut in self. >_>

Anyone else doing their Montreal tomfoolery in the next two weeks? How excited are you? :D I'm basically over the moon!

Good luck in Montreal :-) Get out and see the city, it is beautiful and very easy to get around. I was also from NS, now in VA, where will you be living when in the US?

My fiance's been chillin' in his hotel room in Montreal for the last week! We've been playing games online when I'm not at work to pass the time :) He's also gone to a few hockey games, walked around the city...

Best of luck to you!

I'm planning on using it as a mini vacation of sorts. There will be bottles of wine consumed in the evenings, by gum! I'm also bringing my laptop so I'm able to keep in touch with everyone while I'm there. I know Kevin's going to be biting his nails down to the quick on the 12th. I should be out of the interview by the time he wakes up, to be honest.

I'm sure none of this will cause a problem, but my fiance is kind of a ...well... *facepalm*. I just got his overnighted portion of the paperwork.

He sent me his 2011 transcripts only, his letter of intent had a rip at the top and he forgot to fill out part of the i-134/i-864 (luckily, I know all of the information and it's signed, and the parts he forgot on one form are on the other form in his hand writing so everything matches up)...but still.

But hey, at least his letter of employment is notorized!

If it makes you feel any better, my fiance also sent me incorrect stuff the first time and he did it really late because he's a procrastinator. He spelled both our names wrong, typoed a bunch of important information (like important dates etc) and didn't have his tax returns ready. Oh and he didn't sign it. I called him and had him immediately FedEx a re-done copy of everything- it cost him $70 just to mail it quickly, a couple days before my interview. He drove me up the wall throughout the whole process and does not to this day comprehend the kind of anxiety I was put through and the hard work I did to make sure all the paperwork was filled out right. It was madness, to say the least :P As my sister in law says, my husband is the King of Last Minute Everything.

However, it seems like you have a sufficient amount of paperwork. The letter of employment I gave to Montreal wasn't notarized, and many people are only requested to give the last year's tax return although 3 years is recommended. The rip isn't an issue so long as it isn't through the whole page :P

I just opened the darned thing and facepalmed. My mother's face was the best. I know it will be fine, everything that should be there IS there...but not much wiggle room. That being said, we have over four years of relationship history and I've never been on any kind of social assistance program, nor has he. He makes enough money, law abiding citizens. Yada yada.

I think we'll be fine.

Still, though, have some care, Kevs. I'll be sure to give him some wife treatment when he gets home from work. :)

most of the time for the k1 interview they dont ask for proof of relationship as technically the only proof they need is that you met in person during the 2 years preceding the application. at this point that is all the proof they need. its at the AOS stage and ROC where you need the extra proof. i just brought pictures etc to the interview and they never even asked us about any of it. just how we met where we were getting married and when, and where we'd live. the interview really is the only easy fast process of this whole experience.
