Your information about the Igorots is incorrect. They are not little people of just 3 to 4 ft tall. They are regularly build pinoys just like you and me. And if you go there don't openly call them Igorots just like not calling the blacks as Negro.

I would add also that hotels in Baguio are relatively cheaper than in Manila.

Hope these would clarify a couple of misconception about Baguio.

The Aeta (pronounced as “eye-ta,”), Agta or Ayta are an indigenous people who live in scattered, isolated mountainous parts of Luzon, Philippines. They are considered to be Negritos, who are dark to very dark brown-skinned and tend to have features such as a small stature, small frame, curly to kinky afro-like textured hair with a higher frequency of naturally lighter hair color (blondism) relative to the general population, small nose, and dark brown eyes. They are thought to be among the earliest inhabitants of the Philippines, preceding the Austronesian migrations.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aeta_peoples

The life expectancy at birth of the Aeta is just 16.5 years,[1][2] with only a third of children surviving to adulthood at 15 years[2][3] – at which point life expectancy is still only 27.3 years.[2] Young women reach full adult height (average 140 cm) at age 12 or 13.[1][2] The most thorough longitudinal study done of any Aeta group (or any ethnic community) is available on the Web

140cm = 4ft 7 inch

Ok, my treat at Country Waffles.

Man I have some memories about Camp John Hay. That was the weekend getaway place for the military when we had a presence in the Philippines, that cool climate was always a welcomed break from the heat of Clark AFB or Subic Naval Base.

There were a few times I would arrive in the Philippines (Clark AFB) from the crushing heat on Okinawa, feel that oppressive heat from the concrete during the walk from the plane to the terminal, then get on a bus and go straight to Camp John Hay to enjoy the change of climate.

I would have to disagree

Good Read....

Aetas are so much different from Igorots. You guys do not know what you are talking about. Someone just got a couple of pictures and presume they have seen all the tribes of the Igorots. I know what I'm talking because i grew up in Baguio and live there for so long. I have adopted their way of life even visiting the hinterlands of the mountain provinces. I rest my case.
