Scheduling infopass appointment while AOS is pending

Hello All,

USCIS screwed up my address ( the zip code was off by a digit) and consequently my biometrics appointment letter went back to them as undelivered! Since this happened 10 days ago, I was able to update the address yesterday, I have a feeling the biometrics appointment date has either passed or is coming up in this upcoming week. Since I dont have the letter (they are probably going to resend it) I can't just show up for the biometrics at my local ASC. That means I gotta wait until the letter arrives which I've been told could take upto 2 weeks. Not only this will waste two precious weeks but also the fact that the local ASC might think that I'm a 'NO SHOW' for my biometrics appointment which may have negative impact on all 3 applications (I 485 - married to a US citizen, I 131 and I 765).

Therefore I was thinking about scheduling an infopass appointment just as a precaution in case I don't get anything else in a timely manner, at least I can show up to the infoPass appointment and explain someone the situation( since the folks at the customer service center can't do much- all they did was changed my address over the phone and requested the piece of mail that couldn;t be delivered to be re send).

I've reading conflicting answers on infopass criteria, it has't been 90 days or 45 days since the correspondence, not was I told to appear in person at the local office! If I do schedule an appointment, which option would be most appropriate, and if the letter comes in the mail soon enough and I still haben't missed my Biometrics appointment (which is highly unlikely) then I can simply cancel the infopass appointment?

Has anyone gone through a similar dilemma? I'd love to hear from you! Thanks again

Dave

You can make an infopass and then cancel if you get your notice - yes. They could be able to help you or they could tell you to wait.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

Thanks for your response...I went ahead and made an infopass appointment in around 2 weeks time in case I don't hear from USCIS! Thanks

Dave
