You still haven't had your interview date yet?? I had to wait for a long time during ROC, but then went through super fast for N-400. Maybe they were compensating?

Nope....not even in line yet! Ive had a smooth ride through everything so far.....so if just having to wait a bit longer is the worst that happens....then I'll take it gladly lol

Are you unable to raise a service request until after 5 months have passed? I will tell you that once you have had your interview, your oath will be a couple of weeks after. I got the date at the interview, so at least it will be quick once you get the interview.

Yay, I passed my interview yesterday, Aug.8 at Orlando local Office. It was the shortest time I had in the USCIS throughout my visa journey

Our oath date was handed out to us immediately after the interview which is on the 16th of this month. Thank you so much Visa journey- it's a great community

Haha, thanks UMUC, I wasn't trying to get away from writing the experience, I had to get back to work quickly so just updated the status y'day. Here is our experience at Charlotte, NC office.

Our appointment was at 9:15am so we reached there at 8:30am (yah, too early). However, at security point, we were told to come back at 8:45am as they only let people in 30 minutes ahead of their interview time. Also, my husband is the applicant and I went with him as a side kick well, mainly to show that we're still married in case there are any issues.

We went back again at 8:45am and went through security checkpoint (yes, same as airport security with scanners, take out shoes/belts/coins/etc). It was quick, only 2 people were in line ahead of us.

From security checkpoint, were were sent to a Window 1 in some room. The lady took the interview letter and I am assuming, she checked us in or something. We were told to go wait in an Appointment room. By the time we got through security and checkin, it was 8:55am.

My husband was called in at 9:20 for interview (only 5 minutes late, not bad). He said the IO was very quick in everything. She first started with civic test. He only remembered few questions:

1. What is the political party of the current president?

2. What are the two political parties in US?

3. What states border Canada?

4. Name two US holidays

Then he was asked to read Who elects congress? and was told to write, People elects Congress...

Then the IO quickly went over the application, we had one correction in there. My husband was out with 'approved' letter by 9:30am. The interview basically took 10 minutes.

We were again asked to wait in the appointment room for oath letter. Around 10:10am, the lady came and gave us oath letter and we were done.

One note to future Charlotte NC applicants, it's impossible to get anyone from any of the surrounding passport accepting facility to get hold of on phone. I personally went to one of the USPS office and she said everything was booked till 21st of August. I called 4 other places and left message at each of them and only 1 person replied so far. Luckily, we were able to get appointment to apply for passport on the same day as oath. So, if you're in a hurry, call them and make appointment as soon as you find out oath date.

Hi all March Filer...Need your help...

I am going to apply for my citizenship soon. Just to be proactive I have been looking at the N-400 Appln form. Everything looks pretty simple straight forward questions and I answered all the questions. This was till I came to the Part 10 .. Section D..Good Moral Character...I don't know if I should answer Yes or No for questions 15, 16, 17 and 18.

Here is what I am confused about.

I have one Parking Ticket, think 2 speeding tickets.

Cop had pulled me over and given tickets for these violations. Paid the fines right away. No Court nothing was involved. And all these 3 fines were less than $500.00.

So now

Question 15: Have you ever committed a crime or offense for which you were NOT arrested

Speeding and Parking ticket is not a crime but an offense. And I was not arrested for this minor traffic offense.

So should I answer YES for this question?

Question 16: Have you ever been arrested, detained or Cited by an law enforcement officer for any reason?

I have never been arrested. But getting those 2 speeding tickets means I was cited by cop (law enforcement officer)and in order to issue those tickets he had to pull me over, run my plates and what not. So is pulling over for a traffic violation being detained?

Since I was cited (issued speeding ticket by a cop)

Should I answer YES for this question?

Question 17: Have you ever been charged with committing any crime or Offense?

Again I have not committed any crime. But traffic violation is a traffic offense. Cop did charge me with that speeding

offense.

Should I answer YES for this question?

Question 18: Have you ever been convicted of a crime or offense?

Again I have not committed any crime so never been convicted of any crime. But cop did say I was speeding and issued me tickets and I paid the fines. Does it mean the cop issuing those tickets and me paying those tickets mean I was convicted of speeding? Convicted seems like a word not appropriate for a traffic offense?

Should I answer YES for this question?

Also from what I have read online parking tickets dont matter at all. So should I even mention about that offense on the form?

No to all 4 Qs. They are only interested in offenses that resulted in arrests or fines above $500. You should however keep thd records with you for interview and let thd IO know about it incase he/she asks you these Qs.
