I had my Oath ceremony last Friday, it was very emotional and to my surprise it was also quick, total of 209 citizens, scheduled at 7 AM and was out of the office by 8:20, i ran over to the Miami Passport office, and process my passport (that did took a while, around 6 hours) but walked out of there with passport, passport card and certificate in hand, i am mailing my I-130 packages for my wife and son and will be on a plane to see them tomorrow. :thumbs:

I had my Interview at Memphis TN, I PAssedd .......I live in ARkansasn my Interview was in Memphis TN, 3 hour away from my home. I stayed overnite in Motel n so I can make It today..

Finally Day is over now. Here is my experience..

My schedule was 7:40..I was there by 7:30 inside building, drop my interview schedule letter inbox. I was called by lady at 8:10 and I was out by 8:25 was so quick..

I got Sware from office..I Do nn all stuff..

Then its start question n answer.

Officer:I was asked Have you n ur spouse live seperated for any meritial or any other reson? I said yes. because my wife was doing school in other state n I got job in different state so we lived eight month seperate that time.

Officer: ohhkk! not for any marital reson?. So I don't have to write any comment on it

then its start other..questioning..

Reading: Who paid taxs.

Writting:I pay taxs every year

Civic: When was the declaration of independence signed?

What is the capital of USA?

Name one state that boders Canada?

How many Us senetors are there?

Others I don't remember....

After passing the test, the Office made me sign N400 form last page and given me Paper I pass and Interviewed by her name was on paper.

and told me I will get oath letter in 6 to 8 week...

I live in Arkansas so she told me they try to get my oath done in little rock if they get enough people. otherwise you have to come back Memphis. TN..I took bunch of original document with me incase if they ask but..she didn't ask any single documet to seee...

So now I am crossing my finger now hope I get in Little Rock, So don't have to drive down to Memphis-TN

Finally received oath ceremony letter:09/19/2012(was sent on 09/17/2012)

Oathe Ceremony was on: 09/21/2012 at 8:00am (little Rock, Arkansas)

Finally I am U.S. Citizen

I am still waiting in a que to be scheduled oath :(

Thank you for sharing the article..... Even though we were on the Missouri side at the Federal courthouse in Kansas City, your article was interesting to read. We hope your Oath Ceremony will be soon!!!

We would like to congratulate the new citizens and all the ones that are waiting.....:dance:

You are probably looking at early to middle August

I am affiliated with military overseas and due to travel reasons I am asking the following question to plan my trip. Can anyone help answer my questions? Details of my case can be extracted and used for tracking.

USCIS District Office is Los Angeles

Submitted N-400 around 1 March 2012.

Application receive date was 7 March 2012.

Priority date was 7 March 2012.

NOA Notice date was 14 March 2012.

Called USCIS on 24 April 2012 because I did not hear anything. Was told my case is within processing times.

Called USCIS on 22 May 2012 stating no case activity. An e-request was filled.

Called USCIS on 17 June 2012. I was told that a reply had been sent. Note: I have been fingerprinted for another application not long ago. Included a note in my application to that effect. Was told that fingerprints were not needed.

Received a letter on 18 June 2012 dated 7 June 2012 saying that I should receive an interview date within 60 days. Is this normal? I was told to make an infopass appointment in case I don’t get one. Is that normal? Anyone have any experience/knowledge? Do they interview me or give me an interview date? Same month or next month?

I have read that in some locations (mine Los Angeles) that the oath letter is given right after the interview. However, I am seeing that in various trackers such as here: http://www.trackitt.com/usa-immigration-trackers/n400 that the letter is mailed comes after wards. Which is it?

Is the oath date always in the same month or the month after? What about the 75 shown here http://www.cacd.uscourts.gov/clerk-services/naturalization-ceremony-locations-and-schedule that naturalize at the district court. Does my situation allow me to be one of them?

I was planning to get scheduled for an interview in early august (say 10th) and get naturalized at the end of the month. But, this seems unrealistic doesn't it?

I just want to share a bit about having to reschedule my oath ceremony. The original date was 06/20/12, but I couldn't make it since I was going on a business trip that week so when I received the letter, I made a copy of it for myself and wrote a letter explaining why I had to reschedule as well as have my supervisor write a letter explaining that I am required to be on this trip and send those letters with the original to my local office. I was very wary of having to reschedule because of all the threads that I found here and on other websites that it could significantly delay the process, but I received the new oath ceremony date two days after my original date so it was pretty easy.

Not to say that oath ceremonies should be rescheduled willy-nilly, but I think USCIS understands the significance of life happening during the naturalization process and does their best to accommodate that. At least they did in my case anyways.

Anyways, good luck to all with interviews coming up soon. Have a great Fourth of July!

How are you affiliated with the military overseas, are you military, GS or contractor? If you are one of the above and know your dates of arrival in the US, you may be able to request the date of your interview and in your request you can also ask for same day Oath. I had my Oath ceremony last Friday, it was very emotional and to my surprise it was also quick, total of 209 citizens, scheduled at 7 AM and was out of the office by 8:20, i ran over to the Miami Passport office, and process my passport (that did took a while, around 6 hours) but walked out of there with passport, passport card and certificate in hand, i am mailing my I-130 packages for my wife and son and will be on a plane to see them tomorrow. :thumbs:
