K1 - Fiance Visa

05/15/08: Filed for K1

12/01/08: Interview Scheduled for 9:00 AM at US consulate Chennai

12/01/08: Approved at 11:30 AM

12/04/08: Got the passport with the VISA stamped :D

12/09/08: Got on the airlines and arrived at LAX at 6:15 PM POE took 4 mins

01/27/09: The big day - WEDDING

01/28/09: Applied for SSN

02/12/09: Got SSN in the mail

02/17/09: Got Marriage Certificate

AOS

02/28/09: Filed AP, AOS and EAD

03/13/09: NOA received (AP, AOS and EAD)

03/13/09: Biometrics appointment received

03/18/09: RFE mailed

03/25/09: Biometrics schedule - Done [dint take more than 10 mins including the wait time]

03/27/09: Sent out required info with regard to RFE via Priority mail to Missouri

03/31/09: Request to expedite AP [ Travel Document]

04/02/09: AP Approved

04/06/09: Recieved Travel Document [AP] in the mail

04/13/09: Recieved EAC/EAD in the mail

04/25/09: Recieved Interview date for the 8th of June 2009

06/08/09: Interview for AOS at San Bernardino CA - Passed

Congrats to all that passed the interview, and good luck to those that are still waiting!

Just as I feared, I received the form N-445 yesterday and my oath ceremony is on June 20th, which I will not be able to make it. I'm sending back the notice along with my letter of explanation and a letter from my employer confirming that I really can't miss this work-related trip; therefore asking to be rescheduled, to my local office. Hopefully, I won't be placed too far back in line.

09/27/2008 - Filed I-130/AOS package via UPS

10/06/2008 - Received hardcopy NOAs via USPS

10/25/2008 - Biometrics appointment date

12/23/2008 - EAD card and AP documents in hand! Yay!

12/29/2008 - Interview letter in hand

02/03/2009 - Interview date at San Francisco local office - Approved!

02/17/2009 - Green Card in hand! Whoo Hoo! (4 months, 3 weeks and a day of AOS journey)

ROC Journey

11/08/2010 - Filed I-751/ ROC package via USPS (Express Mail)

11/15/2010 - Received NOA dated 11/09/2010

01/20/2011 - Biometrics appointment (letter received 12/27/10)

02/28/2011 - Received card production email

03/05/2011 - 10-Year Green Card in hand! (3 months, 3 weeks, 4 days of ROC journey)

:thumbs:goodluck on the interview tomorrow MCKS and Ridion

Ruchie passed her interview today! Her civics test was very easy!

She only remembers the first 4 questions,,,,

1. What is the supreme law of the land?

2. What is the highest court in the US?

3. What is the capitol of our state?

4. Who has the power to veto?

She had to write "Freedom of Speech"

She had to read a sentence about Freedom of Speech

He went over some parts of the N-400 application and told her that all the files really looked good . He then congratulated her and told her she passed her interview and civics test. He then went to get her a form called the N-652( Naturalization Interview Results) It told her she had passed the inteview and civics test and congratulated her and said your application has been recommended for approval...

He said to make sure to bring her Greencard when she reports for the Oath Ceremony. She will be notified when she is scheduled for her Oath Ceremony.....

No more USCIS!!!!!!!!:dance:

Is it too late to add my/our name to this list? Here's our timeline:

We sent of my husband's N-400 March 18 (can't remember what lockbox, but our local office is Seattle). He got his biometrics done 5/8. He's scheduled for his interview June 14th!

*10/6/09 - sent I-751, priority mail and signature upon receipt....biting nails (when will NOA arrive?)

*10/8/09 - packet received at USCIS 10:22am

*11/5/09 - biometrics

*11/19/09 - email from USCIS stating approval!!!!!!

11/27/09 - Green card arrived in mail! wow, it's *over*!

...............................

3/15/12 - sent N-400 packet

3/21/12 - packet received at USCIS

5/8/12 - biometrics

6/14/12 - Interview Date!

6/14/2012 - Approved! Oath Ceremony completed!

hi everyone! i fixed the formatting, i realized that the NOA date is not necessarily the priority date. we originally had the NOA date but somebody changed the name of it. also, not all of us posted our priority date so i'm bringing back the 'traditional VJ format' that everyone has been using for years. i hope you guys don't mind. thank you! :)

My appointment was at 8:10 AM and I reached at 7:20 AM. Interview was on time and the Immigration Officer was very friendly. First i took the oath and then she asked for my Passport, GC, and State ID. Then she started reviewing the application and verified all the details on the application.

In the middle of reviewing the application, she let me know that we will be going through the Civics test. Below are the questions she asked:

1)How many ammendments does the Constitution have?

2) Who makes Federal laws?

3) What is the name of Vice President of US now?

4) What is the highest court in US?

5) What group of people was taken to America as slaves?

6) Why did colonits fight the British?

Then she asked me to read " Who lives in White house". Then I wrote " American Indians lived here first".

She then went back to reviewing the application. She kept writing a lot of stuff on my applicaton (not sure what) and then she went through the Yes/No questions on the application. I had answered Yes to one of them "Q16 Part D" and she asked me to explain the circumstances. I explained her the situation and she cut me off and went back to asking more questions on the application. Then she stopped and said " I didnt mean to cut you off but I know that there are lot of travelers who cross the border accidently to Canada at Niagara falls. They should do something about it" That pretty much explains my situation. She laughed and I laughed as well. She then asked me why my wife didn't accompany me, to which I said that she wants more sleep since she is pregnant. So she didn't want to join so early in the morning. She congratulated me and asked our due date etc.

Then she asked me to sign at the end of my application. She put the Approved stamp and went on to print additional documentation.

She then congratulated me and let me know that I was being recommended for approval. She said there is usually one final review of the application but other than that I'm all set. She handed me the Oath paperwork.

My Oath is scheduled for July 4th at 10 AM. Really exicted to be part of the oath ceremony which is planned at the Space Needle.

Been a great journey which will soon be complete. :thumbs: :thumbs: :thumbs:

12/01/08: Interview Scheduled for 9:00 AM at US consulate Chennai

12/01/08: Approved at 11:30 AM

12/04/08: Got the passport with the VISA stamped :D

12/09/08: Got on the airlines and arrived at LAX at 6:15 PM POE took 4 mins

01/27/09: The big day - WEDDING

01/28/09: Applied for SSN

02/12/09: Got SSN in the mail

02/17/09: Got Marriage Certificate

AOS

02/28/09: Filed AP, AOS and EAD

03/13/09: NOA received (AP, AOS and EAD)

03/13/09: Biometrics appointment received

03/18/09: RFE mailed

03/25/09: Biometrics schedule - Done [dint take more than 10 mins including the wait time]

Confused me at first too, but I'm thinking that the first sentence was just the one MCKS was asked to read, the second was the sentence MCKS was asked to write w/o any relationship meant to be implied between the two, ha ha.

*11/19/09 - email from USCIS stating approval!!!!!!

11/27/09 - Green card arrived in mail! wow, it's *over*!

3/21/12 - packet received at USCIS

5/8/12 - biometrics

6/14/12 - Interview Date!

6/14/2012 - Approved! Oath Ceremony completed!
