Hello,

I have a conditional GC that will expire in 6 weeks( I got it in April 14th of 2010 ) after I was married to US citizen.

My marriage took place outside US and we got married on 2/15/2009.

I was told that three years after you get married you can apply to become a US citizen so my question is can I g ahead and apply for naturalization or I still have to apply for removal of conditions and then apply for naturalization couple months later.

My green card issue date is 4/14/2010

My marriage date is 2/15/2009

Thanks for your help

You have to remove conditions if you are a 2 year green card holder.

You were told wrong. You cannot apply after 3 years of being married you must be a Legal Permanent Resident for 3 years among other things to qualify for citizenship application.

You have little time to collect 2 years of evidence and make a packet to send off, you want to hurry and start now.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

you have to remove conditions first. you have to send out the application to removed conditions 90 days before your 2 year gc expires. you have to send in to uscis 2 years of evidence of proof that you are still husband and wife and still living together.

Thanks a lot for your fast response, I have a kid from my wife and we live at the same place, we have a joint bank account, we filed for taxes jointly so would that be enough.

Thanks again for your help.

They want 2 years of solid evidence.

house lease / rental agreement

health insurance

life insurance

dental insurance

shared bank account

shared credit cards

car insurance

drivers license showing both living at the same address

bills in both names

cards sent to the home address with both names on it

birth certificate

Everything needs to span 2 years of marriage/living together. This doesn't mean you include every single page of every month. You include 1-2 pages from every few months to show the span of 2 years.
