Actually, since the beneficiary is from Mexico, you're REQUIRED to do online forms AND electronic processing. See the table at the bottom of this page: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_5165.html

well even better thanks =) is that something new?

The online forms have been around for about a year and a half. While waiting for my NOA2, they came around, so I learned all about them :) For EP (electronic processing), I think it was introduced in 2009 sometime, but only for China and Montreal cases. Over the last three years, they've expanded to quite a few countries as you can see from the table.

Also whats the difference between CDJ and MEP cause for CDJ cases it says its not available ?

I'm guessing different visa categories go to different consulates. But if you're an IR-1/CR-1 visa applicant, then it will be assigned a CDJ number as you have your interview done in Cuidad Juarez.

You're close...

The CDJ numbers are for cases at Ciudad Juarez that aren't using electronic processing. The MEP numbers are also for cases at Ciudad Juarez, but ones that are using electronic processing. If I remember correctly, "MEP" stands for "Mexico Electronic Processing".

Since you're a CR-1 / IR-1 visa applicant, you will be using electronic processing, and assigned a MEP case number.

My wife and I did our CR-1 at Juarez with electronic processing, and it worked out great. It seemed much easier and faster than all the paperwork. Once your case gets to the NVC, you'll be all-electronic from there on out!

Okay so I have not yet sent my application (I 130) . So does this mean I should not send it in by DHL to mexico city?

Well, you're DCF, you don't go through NVC at all...
