Great write up. And I so agree with everything you have said and what I have seen. I have been preparing and getting all my ducks in a row since we got married in Nigeria May 3, 2011. We will file by end of March hopefully once I find a job.

It is unfortunate and yes I so agree couples need to talk and re-talk everything and anything upfront. Red flags that can be addressed do upfront. I can't change my age difference. But what couples need to realize is the Embassy is looking at time together. I spent the last 6 months with my husband and the family.

Also from what I have heard and read from VJers and friends I know is those multiple marriages, the children you still have at home and the other petitions you submitted and cancelled from previous relationships is all in the database. I think people forget those facts also.

I hope you stick around and help you are a great wealth of information and i am sure it will get even stronger as your journey continues.

thank, i concur. isn't it weird when you cant give an answer to "hw u met your fiance"? i mean, just like that 8mnths goes down the drain or to a setback. anyways, on one hand it does stinks that Lagos is like that, on another hand, we do want to have safety in the land we bring our significant others..

thank, i concur. isn't it weird when you cant give an answer to "hw u met your fiance"? i mean, just like that 8mnths goes down the drain or to a setback. anyways, on one hand it does stinks that Lagos is like that, on another hand, we do want to have safety in the land we bring our significant others..

I had the privilege of being at Lagos embassy September 15th 2011 to get my emergency passport to get ho,me. I was there from 1pm until way after closing it was just us after that. But during that time I too witnessed so many denials that were so unnecessary. I wonder if the Beneficiary's really tell the USC the truth that they didn't come prepared, or forgot key evidence.

There were people there that were there for 2nd interview and had letters that told them what they needed to bring and still didn't bring it. We make the CO's out to be the bad guys many times and i tell you at least on this day they all (5 of them) were saying "look I am trying everything i can to get you this visa",

One couple they both were their with baby, well she was asked the vital questions, "where was your husband born?" I don't know. "how old is your husband?", "when is his birthday?". she could not answer none of those and as the CO said "this marriage is a scam a fraud this interview is over. What was he to do give them a Visa. It was a shameless attempt and so obvious. The baby that couldn't even produce a birth certificate, he wasn't even a year old. Goodness.

Well anyway be prepared people go over all 1001 of the questions. Me and my husband play games with it. Its funny. Just in case "what are the names of your wife's, uncles, kids?" you never know.
