1.I 864-Can my joint sponsor live in another state? or is it always better to have someone closer to us

2.I 864-Do they look at the credit of the sponsor(s)? Will bad credit history result in a denial or something?

3.G 325-What if my husband doesn't exactly remember the dates when he started/quit working a certain job? will they check thoroughly? or is it ok fo me to just put whatever he remembers even if it turns out to be wrong?

Thanks a lot!

1. I believe your co-sponsor could live in another state. All the USCIS cares about is that they are legitimate in the country and have good income! either Us citizen,or Greencard holder who meet the cut-off line for the poorverty level. They must sign the I-864

2. No, they don't look at Bad credit at all. As long as they meet the Poverty level for their house-hold + You.

3. He don't have to remember the exact date. I believe if he remembers the month it should be fine. Just dont leave the form blank. Better-still tell him to get a letter from his job confirming how long he's been working for them. long story short, they don't check thoroughly,BUT don't lie! Fill the forms to the best of your knowledge.

Good luck!

My understanding is that you can use a joint sponsor that is domiciled in or any of its territories. See page three of the link below.

http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-864instr.pdf

I do not think they run a credit check on you. You need to provide your taxes (preferably tax transcript from irs) to show that you earn what you claim you earn. Same applies for the co-sponsor.

I'll say try to approximate the months on the G 325. Get as close as possible.

This may be a silly question but I wanna be absolutely sure as it's not mentioned anywhere.

Does the Joint Sponsor have to be a relative? (i mean how can they check if its a cousin, uncle etc.)

Or can your US Citizen friend be your sponsor and fill out the i-864 for you?

It does not have to be a relative. Friend, should work, as long as you can rely on him.
