Hello all, I just recieved the Noa1 and just have a curiuosity as to why it takes so long for them to approve the pettition? Is it that there are stacks and stacks and storage rooms full of pettitions and they just need time to get to them and when they do it only takes a half hour or something to approve the pettition.

Or maybe once they recieve the pettion there is an investigation that lasts for days and days in order to verify the pettioners identity and between lunches and office chats in the lounge room, it just takes a while cause they are just waiting back from other departments....

I dont know it just seems like a long wait in this age of fast information technology.

Just wondering too what everyone else imagines about the whole proccess

It's a complete mystery to me...There's a great sticky at the top of the forum that includes information compiled after a member had the opportunity to chat with a VSC director. It gives us some perspective. But there's probably aspects to it that we are unaware of. Some petitions fly right through. Others take significantly longer. Maybe it comes solely down to the adjudicator. Maybe it's a little luck too. There is some background checking done on the petitioner. And also they evaluate all the official forms for correctness and completeness.
