Guys what do you think about this month.still no interviews.i think it could be good sign for big movement or slow forward.

Do not think too much..It will come whenever it's gonna come..We can't predict anything with the NVC that's thing I have learned from my past experiences...Just be calm and do your normal routine work...Happy Friday, everyone..

Guys for adjustment of status in US, I only have to wait for my pd to be current right? Do i receive any papers to fill out or i have to file the i485 thing??

pd 03 august 2010

Yes, just wait for your PD to become current. You can file your I-485 only when your PD is current and that means the bulletin has to be current. You can't file if you see your PD is current in the upcoming visa bulletin...For an instance, if you see your PD is current in May bulletin (which the NVC will publish in advance) and if right now April is running then you can't file now but you will have to wait till May 1st for your PD to be current and then you can file I-485..Bottom line, you CANNOT file I-485 now based on the upcoming month's visa bulletin..

Also, you won't get any instructions when you PD becomes current for the adjustment of status. You will need to file by yourself..The USCIS does not send any paperwork like the NVC does..

I-485 is needed only if you are adjusting your status in the US and that means if you are already in the US on legal status then you can get your green-card here by filing I-485..

Otherwise, you will need to go through the NVC consular processing to get your immigrant visa if you are not in the US or do not want to adjust the status here..

Even I was in the US on legal status, I did not adjust my status here and went to India for the consular processing because it's much faster. For the status change, you will have to wait until the pd becomes current then you can file your paperwork which takes time to approve. Whereas through the NVC, you are done with your paperwork before the PD becomes current so you get the interview straight after your PD is current..
