May 2012 Visa Bulletin Prediction

We can not completely rely on what is said by DOS, as quoted below. The reason is that what we don't know is how DOS count demand data- the number of completed cases available with NVC or number of I-130s filed at USCIS. If DOS demand data is based on first scenerio, the cut off dates will move slowly as they are now. Remember USCIS took more than a year or two to clear out I-130s back in 2007 thro 2009 and this could possibly have caused low demand at DOS NVC. Since the the last quarter of 2010, USCIS clears most of I-130s within 6 months-that indicates there is more demand and slow forward movement as you would see now.

As I said previously, unless we know how DOS determines demand data, we can not predict how PDs move in the coming months.

the vol was very high after setempber 2010, not in july.

F. VISA AVAILABILITY IN THE COMING MONTHS

Family-sponsored: From early 2009 through September 2010, the level of demand for numbers in the Family-sponsored preference categories was very low. As a result, the cut-off dates for most Family preference categories were advanced at a very rapid pace, in an attempt to generate demand so that the annual numerical limits could be fully utilized. As readers were advised in previous Visa Bulletins providing projections of visa availability (e.g., April 2009, January 2010, May 2010, July 2010), such cut-off date advances could not continue indefinitely, and at some point they could slow, stop, or in some cases retrogress.

My PD is April 2010. I'm currently living in the USA, but have to leave before i turn 18 and a half ( before July 3, 2012) so i dont get the 3 year punishment. I am Salvadorian, by my plan was to go to Ecuador, where my brother lives, stay there until i get my interview, and then travel to El Salvador go to the interview and return here to the USA. But since the VB has gotten ahead so much, i don't know what to do anymore. I had anticipated that i would stay in Ecuador at least 6 months, but now it seems more like 3 months, if the VB only advances one month at a time.

Do you guys think it'll be better if i go straight to El Salvador??

By when do you think i could be getting my interview??

Is there any possibility of the VB slowing down??

Please help, i need to make a decision fast so i can buy my plane ticket!!

ashu do let me know about your interview at Islamabad embassy okay? Best of Luck for that!

Its my wife's. But I am here in Islamabad to take them to states. I will let you know of the interview. There was another guy from Pakistan who posted in April VB thread about his family's interview and the question that they asked. Do you remember? I am unable to find.

Thanks, ashu

My PD Is 27 Dec 2009 . What You Guys Think When My PD Will Be Current ? Any Expert Answer ? Thnks !!!

You are pretty close to be current. If May VB moves at the same pace as April which was 78 days, my friend you will be current in next month PD. Otherwise your will be current for sure in June VB unless there is retrogression which has minimal chances.

Goodlukc.

Don't worry! We all are in the same boat. No one can predict the PD. So just relax have faith! Just keep looking at the section "VISA AVAILABILITY IN COMING MONTHS" that appears after few months in the monthly Visa Bulletin.

Was there any forward movement notice in April VB?

Perhaps July/August 2012?!

Is there any possibility of the VB slowing down??

Not in your time

Please help, i need to make a decision fast so i can buy my plane ticket!!

Welcome

You're smart and you think ahead I like that. You are right you will start to build a bank of illegal presence 180 after your 18th birthday. Going to Ecuador would make sense since your brother is there adjustment is likely to be easier. There is a twist - to have your F2A visa interview in Ecuador you will need to be a legal resident there, If you are able to show residency then you are in the clear, if not - then you will have your interview set in your home country (El Salvador) when your PD is current.

I agree with you. From what I have read, it seems that demand data means completed cases. Logically it makes total sense as a visa number would only need to be allocated when someone has been placed on the list of documentarily qualified applicants.

My F2A/IR-1 journey:

USCIS:
4 August 2011: I-130 sent (while husband permanent resident)
8 August 2011: Priority date
16 April 2013: NOA2

NVC:

7 May 2013: Case number received, DS-3032 sent

15 May 2013: AOS bill received and paid

16 May 2013: AOS package sent

17 May 2013: DS-3032 accepted

20 May 2013: IV bill received and paid

21 May 2013: IV package sent

11 June 2013: response to IV checklist sent

13 June 2013: Case upgraded to CR1

2 July 2013: Case completed

28 August 2013: Interview - approved!

21 September 2013: POE

18 November 2013: Green card received

My husband's citizenship journey:

8 February 2013: N-400 sent
4 March 2013: Biometrics
24 April 2013: Interview
12 June 2013: Oath ceremony
