hey all, my EAD and AP where finally approved on the 1st of march, card production has been ordered and cards have been mailed and I should expect to recieve them within the next 30days(hopefully sooner!).. One thing that mildly concerns me is that they have requested an interview for the perminant residency part. Is this normal? They have requested that I bring just about everything that I have already submitted, is that normal? Any help or assitance would be greatful, thanks!

It is perfectly normal. It is rare when you don't have an interview. You were asked to bring everything you filed in case they lost something and they want to see originals of the copies you submitted.

It's pretty normal, I don't know the stats exactly but a good proportion of K-1ers get an interview. Consider yourself lucky - the ones transferred to CSC currently get stuck in a 6-month limbo before they hear anything.

The letter is the same for everyone. You should bring whatever you can, even if you sent copies in your petition, but you probably won't need them. You will need some proof of a legit marriage but they don't expect a whole lot since you haven't been married for long.

Congrats on the EAD! Usually it only takes a week to 10 days to arrive since the approval date.

I have to have an interview too, ours is on Tuesday. I think it depends a lot on your local office. Most Arizona applicants get interviews because our office really isn't very busy while a lot of other offices are busy.

oh, and congrats on the EAD :) I think it took a bit over a week to get mine in the mail. Had about four email notifications concerning me EAD in between that time too, lol

With the notice letter I received, there was an additional piece of paper saying something like ' if you have ever been arrested, convicted, etc.. Please bring these documents to show this" Has everybody else been getting this? Or was it specifically directed at me?

So do you usually get the EAD and AP in hand before the interview or after?

I thought as soon as I got my AP i will leave USA to have a wedding here in Aus. If I get my K-1 in late April, fly to USA in mid May, get married in early July, send AOS package immediately in July, i should be able to come back to Aus in Nov?
