I finally got my NOA2 today! The text message arrived first, while I was chatting with a friend. I saw it partially, words like: Case, Updated, Status... This strange feeling immidiately hit me! I felt tingly all over, So I opened the text msg, read it. Opened up the USCIS website, wrote my case number, and BAM!

"On March 2, 2012, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283."

This definitely made my day! Good luck to all of you still waiting, don't lose hope, it is definitely coming your way too!!!:dance:

Hey I saw this on someone else's post on here and Mr.Tee 12 posted it and it's very helpful and everything you need to know.

Congrats on your approval!!! Below are the steps you need to take. Be Proactive! Don’t wait for anything!

After your case gets to the NVC and forwarded to the Embassy, you must begin gathering evidence for your case and the "required documents" needed for the Interview.

The current wait time for interview to be scheduled could be 2-3 months.

The Embassy will then send the beneficiary (Dominican born) a list of instructions similar to this one:

http://santodomingo....structions.html

Additionally, follow these steps here. It's a lot but, its worth it.

After you receive your NOA2 (approving your I-129f petition), you will receive a letter from the NVC telling you that they are processing your case and it will mailed to the Embassy in Santo Domingo. During this time your case is examined then repackaged and mailed to the Embassy.

To get valid information just wait 1-2 weeks and call (toll-free) the Visa Specialist (Department of State) in Washington D.C. Call 202-663-1225. Press Option 1 then Option 0 to speak to a visa specialist. (Do not waste your money calling the Embassy). They will tell you when your case was mailed and when your interview (cita) date is.

Also keep checking the Interview list to see when your interview is. Just type in the Case # that was printed on your NVC Notice (SDO2012...):

http://santodomingo....pointments.html

Your packet will be mailed by the mail service in Dominican Republic (Inposdom). Which may take forever (or it may never arrive at all). There website is below:

http://inposdom.gob.do/

Just keep calling and checking the interview list. Since some people never receive their packets, you need to be proactive! If you have not received anything around 2 weeks before your interview, call the Embassy and schedule a day to pick it up before your interview. The medical cannot be done if you do not receive your appointment letter that comes inside of Packet 4. Also, there is no way to track your case online at this point. So keep calling and checking the interview list is your best options. Santo Domingo Embassy contact info:

http://santodomingo....-contact-e.html

Financial Docs:

Once your NOA2 arrives, you need to complete the affidavit and get a letter from your current employer (stating you have a job with them and you make $$$ a year), also you need a letter from your bank (stating how much money you deposited in the past year), and also 3 months of your most recent pay stubs and last 3 years of tax returns.

There are 2 affidavits (I-134 and I-864). The I-134 is very easy to complete and is usually needed for the K1 interview. The I-864 takes longer to complete and more evidence and its usually only needed for AOS but sometimes asked for during the K1 interview. For more information on the Affidavit of support, see the link below:

http://www.visajourn...content/support

To be safe just do them both and prepare. When your fiance(e) gets his/ her Interview Packet, it will tell you what forms you need to bring to the interview. For now I would just complete them both and wait until 2 weeks before the interview date to get a letters from your employer and bank.

Also, your Dominican born fiance/fiancee needs to begin completing the forms (you can practice at this point and finalize later; they are available online), get their birth certificate (long/extensa version), passport photos, etc.

My fiancee and I did all of these things while waiting. Try not to drive yourself crazy. Just use this to prepare. Also gather all the evidence you will need for your interview (phone records, email, pics, travel documents, etc). The last thing my fiancee and I did was update our forms. She got her police report (30 days before her interview date), reprinted visa forms, and I updated my income/employment documents.

I had everything done 2 months before the interview but had to get new letters (dates closer to the interview). Some interviews are scheduled much faster than others so you may have less time.
